Steve Smith hopes Rob Chudzinski stays
"To have a guy leave – if you have any one of your good soldiers leave, the battalion is going to be down a little bit. They're going to look for that specialty that he brings to the group. Everybody kind of goes, 'Well, who's going to fill his spot?' And that's natural," Smith said in a phone interview.
"There is a tendency to worry a little bit, to be concerned, because, 'Hey, he just got here and he's pretty darned good, and now we have to break in someone new.'"
"I haven't really reached out just because I'm a little nervous, too," Smith said.

Smitty always has the best metaphors....

also this is strange…
“I haven’t really reached out just because I’m a little nervous, too,”
you wouldn’t think Smitty would be nervous to talk to someone. Guess that just show how much head coach material Chud has
IHMO retaining Chud for another year is just as important as any other offseason personel issue. I think its important for Cam’s longterm development to get another season under his belt in Chud’s system. I also think the Panthers are a playoff contender with this year’s offense intact and of course improvements to the defense.
Season just ended and Dilfer said he called Cam and he is already working out for next season…kid is a machine. He never stops. I hope we keep Chud i really really do but if that doesn’t happen i could see Shula getting bumped up to OC
Proud member of the Panthers Mafia!

Cam said something awesome that I hope rubs off on our other players
paraphrased, he said that the season isn’t over till the superbowl so he’s going to continue his routine as if he was still playing on each Sunday until February. Smart guy and good motivational tool to use on oneself.
