wow, what an awful hire
Mularkey was awful at utilizing all that talent he had in Atlanta. Can’t believe this is the guy the jags want

Lets hope that this makes the Falcons offense suck next year. Or it could make it better but I have to hope that they suck.
A wildcard spot would be that much easier to get.

As much as I love Chud i didnt see to begin with why everyone thought teams would flock to him for a HC position. He doesn’t have that edge that is required to be a HC imo, hes perfect as a coordinator. Lets not forget that Chud also has a pro bowl offense that made him look even better.. D Will, Cam, J Stew, Kalil, Gross, Smitty, Shockey, Olsen etc. If im a GM of a team like the Jags i would come to the conclusion that my team doesnt have near the talent that Carolina has and it would be extremely risky hiring Chud.
If Chud was working with scrubs and still managed to lead a top 5 offense then yes, thats a different story.. But the question remains.. How much of our success is because of Chud and how much is actually because of our all star offense? Im glad Chud is staying

I highly doubt any of that thinking has anything to do with them going after Mularkey instead. I doubt Mularkey has any more of an “edge” than Chud.

Is it just me, or is there humor in the fact that he just named all these great players on our offense, yet he’s one of the biggest members in the “we must draft a WR” camp?

I thought we needed a DE? No wait, a CB! No wait, DE is definitely it.
On second thought, we really could use that WR.
Just messin with ya PT ;)

Im just saying adding a WR could be evena bigger boost.. Our offense right now is a Porsche, adding Blackmon or another stud WR would be like adding nitrus oxide and make our offense that much better!

When your offense is a porsche
And your defense is a Ford Pinto, you should probably do something about the Pinto first.

I must admit, that was a good read and opened my eyes on a WR… So with that said, we need to draft Dre K, like ive been saying for weeks.

even though
that conflicts with everything you just said

business as usual for PT
When was the last time he didn’t contradict himself? He wants to draft a WR but has been saying for weeks we need to draft Kirkpatrick.
Give me a break…
I’m hard pressed to find a prospect that PT hasn’t said we should draft, sans QB’s.
Wait…he said after Cam’s first pre-season game that we should draft Luck, so nevermind.

I dunno…he’s a little too tall to be a RB.

i dont think he is. Jacobs is 6’4 and Cam looks very lean for his size. Slap on another 10-15 pounds dude could bull doze anybody and juke them out their shoes

Jacobs is an exception though. Most RB’s are 5’9"-6’2"….gives them a lower center of gravity.

Cam could be a HOF’er at probably 18 of the 22 starting positions on the football field—if that had been his concentration from a young age.
I like to think of myself as a one-man wolfpack.
I think we should move him to kicker

Take Chud out of the equation
I don’t think Cam has quite the success he did this season.
"What do want to say to those critics now?"

I disagree
Cam did a fair bit of improvisation that moved the offense…I think the fanbase is begining to overrate Chudzinski a bit. The guy is not some rare wizard, Cam is a rare talent at the position who has made his coaches look better going back to his college days.
I mean, look at Malzahn this year at Auburn without Cameron.
Life is what you make it brothers....
On the same page
What other OC’s would have tailored their offense to Cam as well as Chud has? I think you could potentially argue that someone could have been just as effective, but certainly not moreso.

Life is what you make it brothers....
Who knows how Cam's season would have went down with a different OC.
Chud tailored the entire offense to Cam, calling plays and formations that made him comfortable early on in the season.
Also, Chud made DA a Pro-Bowler so I think he would qualify as a rare wizard…who takes $%#@ serious.

Great news!
Was so pumped when I saw the ticker on ESPN. Really didn’t want to be forced to stunt Cam’s growth to a degree by having him learn a whole new offense in the offseason. Now he can focus on getting the nuances down and working on his footwork and decision-making a little more.

Semi-OT...
We’re not out of the woods yet: the Rams apparently got permission to interview Chud as well. Due diligence, or perhaps Fisher is leaning towards Miami over St. Louis? Guess we’ll see soon.
Praise Jesus, Snoopy, and all the other lovable Disney characters!
Though I won’t be totally happy until all teams with vacancies make their hires, this was the one I was most worried about.

AP reports Chudzinski has permission to interview with Rams. Fisher still their guy, also interviewed Ray Horton, w/Dennis Allen on deck.
Most likely just the Rams doing their due diligence while waiting for Fisher to make his decision, but worth noting.
Exactly.
From everything I’ve heard, Fisher is down to Miami and St. Louis. And the Rams have a QB (hint, hint).
Chud couldn't run his offense in STL
Bradford doesn’t have the arm for it. St. Louis needs to hire a WCO guy so that they play to Bradford’s strengths.

Chud
You do realise that rivera said the playbook will stay here. If we did loose chud, we would still run same offense. Rivera said this is the kind of offense he wants. And he was referring to basically SD offense. maybe another OC would tweak it but I don’t see it changing much. I think other teams look at Chud as a good offensive mind but maybe to prove himself wih another year or 2. It would surprise me if he did get a hc’s job this year. But if we do as good or improve next year then all bets are off the table. But you know what. That is the price of success. And that means panthers are definetly headed in right direction.
Another OC could take over an run this offense but it will be hard to find somebody as creative and with the balls the call the plays Chud comes up with. I do not think there is another OC in the league would of called some of the plays we ran this year. Majority installed the week of the game they were called. I like his Moxy

I think Chud ends up staying here for 2012..but then things get interesting for him. Last year with little to no off season to install a new system and a rookie QB there was little expectations. Now with a year under Cam’s belt and healthy OL and WR corp plus the season and numbers we put up last year this offense will be looked at to produce and produce big. Id say the teams anchor has changed from Defense to Offense. Our strongest side of the ball is pretty clear. A fan base and a locker room will be expecting big things from Chud in 2012 if he is indeed retained as OC…how he handles that could determine his future. Rather it is as our OC or a red hot HC candidate in 2013.

Why? Head Coaching jobs don't come around that often.
If he’s offered a HC job, I can’t blame him for taking it.
I don’t WANT him to take it, but I couldn’t blame him if he did.

Jay gruden did it in Cincy! just sayn it's all about the person! if hes a good coach.......
The HC job will come! now focus on getting this team a championship! Chud! is all i’m saying.
I can understand getting a HC opportunity. but if your good your good… 1 or 2 years wont change that! I feel he has unfinished business here. with one of the most dynamic football players at QB(possibly) ever. Show some continuity please! the HC jobs will come!

I think Jax has this weird mental block when it comes to hiring good coaches.
ACC Championship Member Brandon Thompson is the new Jacoby Ford. You better pick him Panthers or you will be doomed to relive the 2010 season over and over again in the Twilight Zone.
Clemson 2011 ACC Champions! Look forward to doing it again next year! :D
I thought Del RIo would be good back in 2004.
But I do think they have this general mental block on talent in general.
