So, can we cut him in half & play his left half @ CB and the other @ SS?

I like Dre K
I haven’t seen him play myself but read he excels in zone coverage and with physicality. If they see his future as a safety I’m not as big of a fan. Not at #8 at least when there will be solid safeties (who have played safety for years) available at the top of the 2nd.
"One step at a time"
Five months to go

I don't necesarily agree
that cornerback is our biggest need. Yeah our secondary struggled mightily this year but everything starts with pressure and as it stands we only have one good pass rusher in C. Johnson (remember we also drafted Brandon Hogan who barely played this year). Hell, we were tied for 20th in the league in sacks coming into today’s game, and we got ZERO pressure on Brees. Even having a D. Revis back there would have barely affected the outcome. However, I do agree with us drafting Kirkpatrick only because I believe he will be the best player available at that point since this year’s DT and DE class is somewhat weak; Rivera knows this team better than I do and has expressed confidence in our defensive line so I pray that he’s right..

Carolina and Miami actually tied in SOS but Carolina picks first because of the tie-breaker.
"I may be old but...eh, I forget the rest!"
Update!
Tie-breakers after Win-Loss and SOS only apply if teams are in the same Division or same Conference. Since Carolina and Miami are in different conferences, a coin toss will determine who picks 8th and who picks 9th.
Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

trade down if cant get CB
i suggest trade down a couple of picks for someone looking to grad Landry Jones or RG III if he falls and pick up additional picks such as a 3rd rounder, IF Mo Claiborne or Kirky are not available. In 4 months the draft board wil change a bunch as always, however our needs will not most likely. I am sure a CB will be available in Free Agency as there always is.
I trust RR's ability to build a strong D and his judgement on talent.
Look at what he was able to do with rejects, cast off’s, and practice squad pickups to fill our defensive holes from injuries late in the season. Some nice rotational talent in Kearse and others. He will make the right choices and build us a top 10 defense soon to go along with a top 5 offense.
I like collard greens.
