NFC South In 5 Years
WOW! I just thought about this and was like amazed. The NFC South (In My Mind) is one of the hardest and defiantly most talented divisions in the NFL. Right Now we have some crazy good QB's (Well Most Of The Time) in Josh Freeman, Drew Brees, Cam Newton, and Matty Ice. Drew Brees (Despite My Hatred For Him) is a more than respectable QB. Matty Ice is a composure filled QB that lead a 4-12 team to 4 straight winning seasons (not saying anything else, I don't think he's in his prime yet). Josh Freeman, who despite his current season is a young talented QB. Cam Newton, who scares me the most, is an AMAZING QB who is putting up stats better than QB's like Tom Brady, Mike Vick, and Eli Manning. Hold me to the prediction he will win a Super Bowl and beat Brees' record. These guys are still young (except Brees). You would think while Brees is gone we will have a filed day, but don't look at the scores in the games, look at the QB's game. They are great. Brees has maybe two more good seasons and 2 other mediocre ones. That means in 5 years, Brees will be 37 and most likely gone. That leaves the other 3. More after the jump.
Let's start with Josh Freeman. In 5 years he will be 28 and a well experienced QB. Look at his stats, you would think that he would have at least one monster receiver, he doesn't really. His team is okay, but yet he carried them last year to 10-6 with a shot at the playoffs. Of course, he is still young and makes turnovers. In fact, when ever they play us you can expect a pick from the Grime Time. Now 5 years into the future, Draft/sign a good WR, some linemen, and some RBs. He then has a good team to back him up, he will be a monster.
Here comes Super-Cam! I will give you some of his stats, 34 Td's, 4000+ yards,295 completions. That's his rookie year. Of course though all rookies are not like Mr.Ryan was, he does have his fair share of mistakes, mainly turnovers. He does have a good team to back him up though. Decent Run game, A good WR in Steve Smith. He can get more though. This guy is putting tremendous numbers in passing and rushing. THIS GUY WILL BE AMAZING. Remember my prediction it will come through. He will be 27 in 5 years.
Now onto my boy Matty Ice. I DO NOT want to say anything about him just incase of the jinx monster. I'll just say one thing. So far he's following Drew Brees' footsteps. Drew Brees was also a great QB but not in the top 5. He was always up there in the top 10, like Ryan. Now, Brees had good targets in Antonio Gates and other people in the Chargers.Drew Brees got better as he got older, around 29-ish he hit his prime. Matt Ryan's 26. I will stop talking.
I'll rest my case by saying that one of our NFC South teams will win the Super Bowl in the next 5 years, I'll leave a poll to see what you all think.

the next five years
I think Ryan is overrated. He’s talented, but sometimes we look at intangibles more than tangibles. I don’t think he’s going to get much better, but his current level of play is still pretty good. It seems you have a real dislike for Brees, I don’t know why. Of course, I could be wrong about that. Either way, Brees is a Hall of Famer, and has a few good years left.
CAM won’t pass for over 5,000 yards. i don’t see it happening. The Saints defense has struggled, and they have no real RBs. He has to throw all the time. We have much talent at RB and our defense is getting better all the time. We’ll be even better next year. I expect more seasons from CAM between 3500-4200 yards. Chud has realized that 25 good throws is better than 45 marginal throws when you got 3 runners who get 5 YPC. No matter who our QB is, we should get 30 runs a game.
Look at my picture...

Not only does the NFC South have 4 of the best QBs, they have some of the best RBs in the league...
DeAngello Williams
Jonathan Stewart
Michael Turner
LeGarrette Blount
Darren Sproles
That’s pretty scary that this division has so much talent at both QB and RB.
Dont forget the Miami U TE's
Bucs: Kellen Winslow
Saints: Jimmy Graham
Panthers: Greg olsen & Jeremy Shockey
Add the non-Miami old bastard gonzalez
and you probably have the best group of TE’s in a division
I also think this division is very stacked at LB. Beason, Davis, Weatherspoon, Vilma to name a few

I wanted to pick something other than Panthers
because I truly believe one of the teams in the division will win the Super Bowl in the next five years. But I just couldn’t do it.

Falcons aren't going to get any better with Ryan
I know you are a Falcon and hence it is obvious you would be high on Matt Ryan. However, if I look at where his game is this year. He seems to be standing still (if not regressing from) where he was last year.
Falcons still are too dependent on Turner. Despite having great WR’s and TE, Ryan is not able to consistently carry the team on his own. Unless he takes a quantum leap in terms of improvement, the Falcons can’t get any better than what they already are, a Wild Card playoff team.
As for Josh Freeman and the Bucs, it depends on who their new coach is and whether they are able to bring the crowd back.
In all this, there are too many variables. However, if you ask me, we could be just like the NFC East in another 5 years. With good teams who either underachieve or cancel each other out, leaving other teams fresh and in better position to make an assault in the playoffs.
Good Argument But...
Have you looked at Ryan’s recent numbers. And let me mention I am not a fan of the Falcons, rather the NFC South seeing how I lived in all the states. I just chose Falcons because i live here now. Anyway back to the matter at hand. The Falcons have obviously stepped down their game this season but that means what. When you are dissapointed with a team going 10-6 thats saying something. Let’s go back to ‘07. The Giants at the time were 5th seed (like us). The pulled together a few winning season under Eli (at the time oddly playing like Ryan) but people didn’t believe they can be a playoff team. Well, they went on to win the SuperBowl. What I’m saying is it’s to early to judge. Drew Brees, another example. He was an above average QB at Ryan’s age but once he hit 29 he was at his prime. You are still saying the Falcons rely too much on Turner, well recently before we played you he hurt his Groin. We have been giving him alot less touches and we’ve managed 2 blowouts and one comeback where he barely had anything other than a couple 1st downs and maybe one big run. We have a run first offense. That’s good, but at the same time we have a top 10 receiver, a top 15 reciever, a top 10 QB, and a top 5 TE. Add that to a top 15 defense and a whole lot of talent and you just mught get yourself a ring. i dont know if the I-85 rivarly (going old school) has anything to do with this but I see the falcons with the highest chance to win a SuperBowl in 5 years and the panthers in 7-9 years.

A few points here...
1. Eli and Brees are not at the same level. If you say Falcons can win the Super Bowl with Ryan like the Giants won with Eli. Then I sure agree. That’s because in my eyes, Eli is not an elite quarterback, he benefits partly from being the brother of Payton. Ryan is equivalent to Eli or Romo, but not equivalent to Brees, Brady, P. Manning and Rodgers. And he hasn’t shown any signs of even getting to that level.
2. Two Blowouts against Bucs and Jags. That’s a very amusing argument…I am sure any decent team and quarterback can do that given where these two teams are right now.
3. A comeback against Panthers D, which has been almost as bad as the two teams you just blew out. Again no big deal, an average to good team should be able to do that.
4. When it came to the good defense like that of the Texans, or good teams like Saints (twice) and Packers, Ryan specifically and Falcons in general have been found wanting.
5. You have two awesome receivers as correctly mentioned in your post and a HOF TE, however still Ryan’s team depends on the run. That is actually a negative in my eyes. Seeing what Andy Dalton could do with Green and based on what Atlanta gave up to get Julio. I for one feel that Julio left a lot to be desired and most of that blame would go to Ryan.
And lastly, when I look at the numbers, Ryan and Eli are closer to Cam than to Rodgers or Brees. In fact, I would say that if Stafford can stay fit, he is a better quarterback (with more potential) than Eli or Ryan.
Okay thats not my point
You do not need an elite Qb to win a superbowl, many have done without. In fact I’ve been thinking and Troy Aikman reminds me very much of Matt Ryan, is he a stellar QB stat wise? One may argue but he has many SB rings so hes respectable. We have a QB thats VERY smart. He has the second lowest active Turnerover % only trailing A-Rod. If he dosen’t make mistakes he has a good recievers that can make up for many things! And when you can depend on both sides of Offense than that’s good to me. This year we have also been slipping, last year we were amazing against all teams but our OC has something to do with that. Oh, and the Stafford vs. Ryan debate that comes up alot with my Detroit freind, look at Staffords attempts vs Ryans. A team cannot be elite without multiple things to depend on!

To say that the Falcons won't get better with Ryan
isn’t taking into consideration that teams don’t always need stellar play from their QB to win.
4 of the 8 division winners have average to terrible play at QB this season.
I see Matt Ryan as a very solid QB. If he were in the AFC, he’d be a shoe in for a pro bowler this season.
That said, I think he’s pretty close to his ceiling. I think he could improve by getting rid of some turnovers, but all in all, I think he’s very good.
I think the Falcons can contend for a Super Bowl. They have a good offense and a decent defense.
I think even this season, they could upset and win the Super Bowl.
I don’t think it’s extremely likely that they win it, but I don’t think it would be truly shocking if they did win it.
Based on this post it's all about Ryan only...
I agree that teams don’t always need stellar play from thier QB to win. I also agree that Falcons may win the Super Bowl with an average QB.
However, from what I understood from this post. NFC South will supposedly be awesome in another 5 years because they will have awesome QB’s and not because the teams will be good enough to win with average QBs.
Falcons can contend for the Super Bowl, however I believe exactly what you said…
I think he’s pretty close to his ceiling. I think he could improve by getting rid of some turnovers, but all in all, I think he’s very good.
In the post above Ryan is supposed to be the next Drew Brees, who in my eyes is Great and a lot better than “very good”.
Im not saying stat wise, im saying knowledge wise
he has enough knowledge to not make easy turnovers and dumb moves, and you dont need to be exactly “amazing” with Roddy White and Julio Jones on your teams. Not to mention our TE but who knows how much longer he will be here

I would say that Ryan isn't average
He’s most certainly above average. He is 8th in the league in passing yards. He is tied for 6th in the league in TDs thrown, he is 12th in completion percentage, and he is tied for 14th in fewest INTs thrown.
He’s on the high end of average for 2 of them, and he’s on the upper end of the scale for 2 others.
I don’t know how anyone can consider him an average QB. He’s clearly above average.
No, he isn’t Brees, Rodgers, or Brady. However, just because someone isn’t the best player at the position in the game does not mean that you can ignore that they are really talented.
In reality, if we had a QB who was as good as Ryan during the Fox administration, it would be safe to say that we’d have at least 1 ring.
