Panthers vs. Saints Pre-Game Open Thread
The Panthers have talked about being chippy having not forgotten the game earlier this season in Charlotte. In that one Saints S Roman Harper laid a cheap shot on Steve Smith well after Smith scored a TD. After trailing for the entire game, the Panthers scored early in the 4th quarter to take the lead. The Saints would eventually win the game on a last minute TD that just sucked.
We are looking for a better result in this game...the is now an Open Thread!
Go Panthers!

Second that!
I’d like to not only beat them but beat them up – within the rules, of course. I’m hoping that D-Will is right and the team is itching to make a statement.
Harper’s a marked man, and I’ll bet that Smitty is ready to go off today.

I just finished reading the Defensive Preview thread and comments
One point that nobody made was how the NFL changed the rule about the QB being a defenseless player when he doesn’t have the ball anymore, especially after a turnover.
IMO, that should be called the Cheap-shot Saints rule after what they did to Favre and Warner.
And I still bet that if the Vikes or Cards EVER get a chance to lay out Drew Brees, they will.

Wow, it sucks so bad we have to wait 8 months for next season. Why so long turnaround time for Football! Basketball is just like 4 months. I think NFL’s schedule should be like this.. March- Draft, April- Rookie camps/OTAs, May training camp, June- Pre season, July- Regular season start! 8 months is so damn long. Wouldn’t you guys agree?

This site keeps me entertained during the off season.
While there are no games, there will still be some stuff to talk about and the guys here stay on top of stuff.

Here ya go PT. Something to take your mind off it.
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.
Happy New Year everybody
I hope not too many of you are hung over. Hopefully, this thread stays Saint free. Last game for the Panthers…lets do this!

Just watched the last game...
Just dont throw a FIRST PLAY interception, and somehow take Jimmy Graham out of the game and we will be ok. I see a good one coming.
Whats gonna happen....
Here it is. The Panthers are going to come out and freakin punch the Ain’t’s in the freakin mouth. By half time the Panthers will have them saying: " ya know, we are in the playoffs with a home game. These guys are playing for blood. Let’s take or ass woopin, and be healthy for our playoff game".
Then the Panthers take this victory, and add it to the great last half of the season. This time next year we are posting: " well, we have home field locked up for the NFC. Do we rest our starters in this meaningless last game, or not".

I don't thik you will see anything like that unless the Saints start 1.
I know Williams said he will be playing chippy and might get a fine, but he also said he won’t be throwing a punch. I believe Rivera has told them to take their revenge out during the game play, within the rules.
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!
Fired up
Supercam, we need you to fly today. Go panthers, god i feel like shit. Happy new year everyone…… urgh
Save us Pilares
Happy New Year Folks!
I love the Panthers in this game. I think the Saints end up resting their starters in the 2nd half after the game gets out of reach for them.
33-17 Panthers
I cant wait to see Stew stiff arm bitch ass Harper. I hope he really gets a good position and good grip and just slam that fool like Barber in 08.
We may see a early personal foul on Smitty or Shockey. i will live with that. Get the blood pumping!

Geez...
the coaches in Jacksonville were told to be completely cleaned out and not to come back to the premises by monday.
They could wait until after the game, though.
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.
Although, I understand that's part of the strategy. They do not want to win this game.

Have they been replaced yet?
If I was told that with 1 game left I would say no problem, wouldn’t show up to today’s game & would be there packing.
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!
That'd be foolish
You’d be screwing yourself out of whatever severance your contract is worth by doing that.
I wouldn't care.
I would already be rich from getting paid to coach them.
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!
They won't be anyones coach after this last game anyway.
Would you really care?
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!
You should be more concerned with the owners that told me to get my shit out by Monday & don't come back.
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!
If you led my team to 4 seasons without a winning record...
Yeah… I’m pretty much going to tell you to leave and not come back.
So why would you be glad I am not your coach?
If you aren’t winning anyway why give a shit if I stay there to pack up instead of coaching you?
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!

Now, I think this is his way of trying to lose the game, but if I'm those coaches...
I’d be trying to screw him by winning it. Wow, what a weird game that one is!

That speaks bad of jerry Richardson and his family is stupid. He just came over to my wife and in our seats took pictures and chatted for like two minutes. We didn’t yell and get his attention. He sought us out. Class act. 110%. Go Panthers!

If you can make it up to the front row you still may get 1 since there are so few Panthers jerseys there to give them to.
Even of you don’t though, hope they win so you enjoy the game. I can’t imgine being there with a bunch of Taints while their team is winning.

Then all their fans will say their team didn’t care about a win. I am sure you know that routine already.

Another reason to dislike Saints fans
Panther Fan:
congrats to drew brees for breaking the record. he’ s a great guy and a great QB. as for the game this weekend, i think the panthers win for two reasons. 1) the panthers offense has been insanely good lately and 2) i dont think drew brees plays the whole game. good luck in the playoffs. i hope yall destroy the falcons again and make it back to the superbowl. on a side note: i hope yall enjoy the success in the NFC south this year because carolina is gonna be sick next year
Saints Fan Response:
Sick in the stomach that the Saints came out on top once again. Your team needs more than Cam if they want to come out on top of the Saints. They need a new head coach, a new defensive coordinator, new GM, new scouts, new players and fans like ours. The last one I mentioned will never happen, so you can scratch that one. You still need all the others, wait a few years to let everyone jell together, then maybe, just maybe you may have a shot at going on top of the New Orleans Saints. Sorry GRAVE, the truth does hurt sometimes. But anyway, I’ll give you a big WHO DAT for thinking so greatly about your team.
I'm not white washing their whole fan base, but the ones that have come over here have been assholes, like that one ^^
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.
Yeah I'm not going to make a sweeping generalization and say they're all bad
But as a collective whole, they’ve definitely been the least pleasant fans I’ve come across since being on here.
I can only pray this part of his post is 100% true.
and fans like ours. The last one I mentioned will never happen, so you can scratch that one.
Who would want to be like the Taints. (Taints is what I call the Saints fans)
STICK THE KNIFE IN AND TURN IT!!!!!
I hope we never get to that point
But I don’t think it’s possible because we stay loyal to our team through the bad times. We won’t suddenly become die hard fans when our team does well, we’ve always been fans.
Douche bag

Happy New Years everyone!
Here’s to closing out the year on a fun note, win or lose!
Cmon Cam, get 4K!
Saints O line
Holdrod the left tackle for the Saints is holding really well today, and the last Saints touchdown he was half a step ahead of the count , never gets any penalties though, so he is that good.
Sherrod Martin sucks!
I think the first thing the Panthers should do in the off season is get rid of that sorry excuse of a safety. He cant cover and he damn sure cant tackle. He should have striped that TD pass.
wow
One guy intercepts while Harper continues to push Steve Smith out of play? Guess pass interference not on saints agenda today?
OMG
How in gods name was that not pass inteference!?!?!
give it ti them
Officials are told I am guessing that Saints go to Super Bowl this year. The last couple of games so many calls are NOT made on the Saints. He was grabbing the arms last play long before ball arrived.
Carolina will get theirs
When the brawl break out. Its going to happen, just a matter of when.
by Carolinafan83 on Jan 1, 2012 2:03 PM EST up reply actions
no holding at all called today
This will get as ugly as Falcons game was monday unless some holds get called. NFL is getting to where I am about to stop watching it almost like NBA where calls are made when they want to call them.
