Cam gets advice from Michael Vick

ESPN has this bit of trivia posted this morning.

It kind of make me wonder what kind of advice Michael Vick had for our man. I imagine that Cam was pretty thrilled to get a random call from the guy he seems to get compared to the most.

Hopefully Vick is telling him to slide instead of trying to layout tackling linebackers. In any case, it was a pretty cool gesture from Vick.

I know you asked ALAC, but I will give you a free tutorial.

A fanshot is where you link the article and give a brief 2-3 sentence synopsis, as you’ve done here.

A fanpost is where you write a more in-depth piece with stats or facts to support an argument you’re trying to make. Or, a fanpost can be a blog about why you like a certain player, etc….but the main difference is that if you only have 1 or 2 sentences of your words, it should be a fan shot.

Not too sure what to make of that conversation

But if Cam can perform on the field and make us competitive every Sunday then good. I just hope there are no major off field issues that will take away from his credibilty and reputation. However, I doubt that will be an issue as he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

yeah...he's compared to Vick by his supporters...

…but compared the DeMarcus Russell by his detractors (just read what most of the rest of NFL who aren’t Panther-backers say).

Both are comparative reaches, IMO.

If we're lucky ten years down the road, and Cam remains the face of the franchise...

I don't either comparison is a reach

I think both are flat out wrong. Putting it very simply, Cam is WAY bigger and no where near as fast as Vick. Russell’s biggest weakness was his lack of a work ethic, which is showing to be a strength of Cam’s.

If you’re going to compare him to someone, Freeman and Culpepper are probably the closest comparisons. Even they aren’t great though.
