The Panthers pounced quickly after CIN released former GA Bulldog Max Jean-Gilles, and signed him to a one year deal. Terms of the contract were not available when the move was announced on Twitter by Jean-Gilles former teammate and current Panther Charles Johnson. Jean-Gilles is a 6th year pro, 6'3" and 320 lbs. He should help fill a hole left on the Oline when Schwartz went down with a hip injury and then Garry Williams broke his ankle filling in for him in the preseason. Jean-Gilles scouting report is as follows (courtesy of ESPN Insider)
Jean-Gilles is an average athlete and is best in a confined area. He has natural power but isn't an explosive blocker. He has strong hands and a solid punch. He lacks lateral quickness and agility to react well to stunts and counters. He locks on and stays connected well on initial blocks but can get exposed on the second level
