I guess I shouldn't post this on a fan board since many don't see what Cam's bringing, but I had to share this article from NFL.com.
Gil Brandt goes on to say, "I’ve scouted thousands of players and wouldn’t make this statement lightly: Through two games, Cam Newton is the most impressive rookie quarterback I've seen come into the league." If this doesn't lay to rest that Cam is for real, I don't know what else to say.
One of the more potent points Brandt makes is that most people aren't willing to look past his character flaws. My question is what flaws? Didn't the NCAA let him play? Why would they let someone win the Heisman and Championship if he was playing illegally?
In my mind, he's cleared of any wrong and should be given a fair shake. Not to mention a #7 of the Eagles actually committed felony crimes and a so called WR of the Jets as well. I could make a list as long as Belichick's nose (or video tape for that matter).
I think the biggest issue here that most haters do not want to realize is that he's good, damn near great and anyone who didn't want Auburn to win or give a great player credit must do so. If not now they will.
What's your take?
