Cam Newton; A blast to the past, crow, humble pie and so much more!

Today I thought would be a fun day to do some time traveling. I dont know about you guys, but nothing makes me more happy and gives me such a satisfied feeling of seeing a lot of people predict one thing, and just mere months later get proved 100% totally and utterly WRONG WRONG AND WRONG!

So join me in this journey into the past. The date is March 28th, 2011. Time; 9:16 A.M ET. What we are about to see is a article which was published on PFW.com on this date. (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/28/pfw-draft-guide-clobbers-cam-newton/) direct link to the article if interested. This article contains a description of our current franchise QB Cam Newton by someone of the name Nolan Nawrocki.

Now I know what some of you might be thinking; "Oh god, must we revisit this again, its been covered a million times." I understand this, but what I am also going to post are some of the comments from the users on this website. So just read the article, read some of the user comments and grin so smug from ear to ear like I did after reading this tonight!

The Pro Football Weekly draft preview, prepared each year by the late Joel Buschbaum’s successor, Nolan Nawrocki, is regarded as an indispensable source for comprehensive information regarding the many incoming players. This year, Nawrocki takes aim at one of the biggest names in the draft pool. Our corporate brother/cousin/colleague/potty-mouthed PFT Live guest Tom Curran points out that Nawrocki rips former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton.

Under "negatives" for Newton, Nawrocki writes, "Very disingenuous — has a fake smile, comes off as very scripted and has a selfish, me-first makeup. Always knows where the cameras are and plays to them. Has an enormous ego with a sense of entitlement that continually invites trouble and makes him believe he is above the law — does not command respect from teammates and will always struggle to win a locker room . . . Lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness — is not punctual, seeks shortcuts and sets a bad example. Immature and has had issues with authority. Not dependable."

Wow, Nolan. Tell us how you really feel. As Curran points out, each team will draw its own conclusions regarding Cam Newton. His talent and potential are undeniable; it only takes one team in the top 10 to be willing to take a chance on his character for Cam to be a top-10 pick. Or, as the case may be, the top five. Or, as the case may be, the top three. Or, as the case may be, the top one.

Now, I will post some of the user comments that commented on this story...

User 'thereisalwaysnextyear' says; He was a one year wonder with more red flags than a communist military march. Since y’all get paid, apparently, to write about football go back and look at all the one year wonder quarterbacks chosen really high and then what has their success rate been? I don’t get paid in the football industry(maybe a good thing but I wouldn’t touch Cam with YOUR money. The best thing that can happen to him is to slide to the bottom of the first round and have a team that doens’t need an immediate quarterback(someone like the Pats, but they wouldn’t draft him) that can teach him…both on the field and off the field and try and surround him with the support group he needs (i.e. not a father that tries to pimp him).

User 'brownsfan' says; Sounds like a perfect first-round pick for my perennial expansion team the Cleveland Clowns! User 'riderspantherssk' says; You would think most teams doing due diligence would reach the same conclusions as PFW. I hope Hurney and Richardson don’t take a chance, spending your top pick on a QB for 3 straight years is when I run out of confidence. User 'hobartbaker' says; "Disingenuous’ is far too soft a term. It is like running into a 10 year old trying to scam you with sugar. Blatantly fake and not remotely convincing. I’m assuming that most men who have managed to reach positions of responsibility in a billion dollar industry would not be fooled. But you never know.

This is my personal favorite one guys. User 'nflpuppetmaster' says; It’s about time someone in the media removed their head from Cam Newton’s ass and sees him for what he really is: a huge waste of first round money and physical talent. User 'freakish213' says; see: JaMarcus Russell So there you have it guys. Now lets be honest, reading all this really made you so happy and left you with such a warm and fuzzy feeling deep inside considering how so far (yes i realize its only been 2 games)

Cam has completly proved these people wrong.. DEAD COLD WRONG. Oh I love it! So hench the name of my title.. Idiots, and the idiots who ended up eating crow with some humble pie for dessert.
