As we touched on yesterday, RT Jeff Otah missed practice Wednesday due to a concussion he sustained during Sunday's game vs. Arizona. While Ron Rivera hopes Otah will be able to play he already announced that Byron Bell would start at right tackle if Otah is out. The meteoric rise for Bell from UDFA, to roster bubble, to possible starting right tackle is a truly wonderful story, but that doesn't mean I'm not scared.
Here is the full injury report from Wednesday
LIMITED: Davis, Thomas, Groin
DNP: Otah, Jeff, Head
FULL: Pilares, Kealoha, Ankle
FULL: Thomas, Josh, Thigh
I'm really excited to see that Kealoha Pilares participated fully. While he's still an outside shot to be activated on Sunday I really feel like he could be a wild card in this game. If the Panthers can use Pilares receiving out of the backfield like the Saints used Darren Sproles last week he could potentially have a big game. We saw that ability in the first pre-season game vs. New York when he scored on a 35 yard touchdown.
While Thomas Davis was limited I really wouldn't be too concerned. By Sunday I expect he'll be participating fully.
