Cam needs a nickname...
We reeaallly have to come up with a good nickname for him. He has Peyton Manning's presence, Ben Roethlisberger's body, Michael Vick runs, and Lawrence Taylor's tackles. (Ok maybe thats a little Cam-sided after his first game...)
He's got game. He's got charisma. He's got the million dollar smile. Now, we, need to give him a million dollar nickname.
Crazylegs, Sweetness, Neon, Deacon, Too Tall, White Shoes, the Freak, and Iron Mike are all great nicknames for past great players.
Any ideas?

I'll play...
how about we simply drop his last name like the soccer players…he’s just ‘Cam’. We could actually improve it further by adding ‘La’ to the beginning because that makes names better
LaCam! ;)
"La" is feminine
It would be “Le” Cam!! but I don’t like it anyway. If he gets a nick name it cannot be any kind of joke or silliness. He is “The Franchise” or “The Icon”

I may not always be right, but even a blind nut finds a squirrel every once in a while.
I'd almost be willing to pay you for a Gimp or Photoshop class
I don’t have the time to figure it out, but I kinda need it sometimes. Looks way complicated.

The best advice I can give you is to download GIMP (because it’s free software) and just learn on the fly. That’s what I did…in fact there are still a lot of things I don’t know. The more you play around with it, the more you learn, and the easier it becomes to do things.
You can find mini-tutorials on You Tube on how to use GIMP (I don’t know if there are any for Photoshop, as I’ve never searched for them.)

His nickname is Cam
Let it be. He’s too amazing to have a cheesy nickname.

not bad for occassional use
he turns into CamRun when u want him to tuck it and run
Not to be a dick but....
1/4 Manning, 1/4 Roethlisberger, 1/4 Vick, and 1/4 Newtonium?
That Hell No was meant for Newtonium
that’s just too silly for him
Forced nicknames don't work, have to develop naturally
It’ll probably end up as “the icon”
The Icon was first on my poll!
Right before we drafted Newton I did the first Cam nickname Fanpost. No big deal just saying I ran a poll then and most picks were for “The Icon” second was “Sir Cam Newton” like the genius which was the one I voted for. To me it’s simple still allows Cam to be Cam, yet has a respectable ring to it

Sorry to repeat your post...
I just thought, now that we have seen him play a bit, we could play with nicknames that might be influenced by his performance.
I keep thinking “rocket” when I see him throw.

I like the Icon somewhat
but give it time there is a Camism coming that may just fit the bill
As a Cam myself
I’ve never had a nickname stick for long. My last name, which another great Panthers player also has, is somewhat easier to nickname

BIG SMOOTH!
This name came to me while I was watching him avoid the blitz. This reflects his poise and stature in the pocket. He’s calm and cool under pressure and not too small to boot. BIG SMOOTH!!!!

Optimus Prime is already taken
Georgia Tech (a.k.a. Cybertron) puts out all the Transformers. 1st it was Megatron (Calvin Johnson), couple years later they started calling DAYMARIUS THOMAS (Denver Broncos) Optimus Prime. Good Idea but already taken.

C'mon guys. We don't want some silly f__kin' nickname like Matty Ice or Cammy Fire...
oh wait, maybe “The Towering Inferno”. Yeah, yeah, that would be cool.
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.
The Jesus
“Nobody fucks with the Jesus”
“Your name’s Lebowski, Lebowski”
Gotta love that movie. Anyone know if they plan on activating Tutu soon? He’s gonna have another week in the system and I bet he would make a great gunner on ST and another deep threat for The Jesus. And more importantly make an effort for potential game winning passes (NaaNooooo)
Keep Pounding
I kinda like " The Icon"
But a nick name is earned over time… Not just given… I’m curious to hear what his teammates dub him…

Some people over on Canalstreetchronicals have been refering to him as
Scam Newton hows that work for ya’ll
by mississippisaintsfan on Sep 13, 2011 10:41 PM EDT reply actions
No.
I could give a shit less what he did when he was 21 years old. Give it a season or two and some of the Canal Street Chronicle people will refer to him as Cam “where did our Saints defense Guaex?” Newton. How’s that work for y’all?
In Carolina, Cam Newton has a clean slate and a fanbase that will back him 100%.

Cam needs a nickname??
If the man represents Carolina’s version of a Knight in Carolina Blue, it’s obvious that he should be rightfully called “CAM-A-LOT!” The Playmaker (Michael Irving) was right when he said the NFL shorted Sir Cam-a-lot $22 million dollars!
