Will Tony F Be Going On IR? The Panthers Claimed FB Jerome Felton Off Waivers
The Panthers were awarded ex-Lions FB Jerome Felton (6-0, 246, 4.66-40) tonight, though the Eagles and Vikings also put in a waiver claim, according to Rotoworld. Felton played college ball at Furman, his 2011 salary is $1.2 million, and he will be a free agant in 2012. They said Felton might be a shightly better blocker than Tony F., but they were puzzled by the pickup as well.
Could it be that Tony Fiammetta's concussion problem might be much worse than the Panthers have said, and that he might need to go on IR?
In 3 seasons with the Lions Felton had 39 carriers, and 30 catches, so he might also provide a little more offensive production than Fiammetta, but at around double the price.

havent been very high on fiametta the past couple of seasons. Since the departure of hoover it hasnt really been the same. i know a big part of that is o-line injuries however fiametta just doesnt have that same blocking abillity that hoov did.
very true
Yeah i agree, I haven’t been impressed with Fiammetta either. Maybe that’s because i liked Hoover so much he was a beast for us. I hope Felton turns out to be a good pick up.

To be fair
Fiammetta has had the unenviable position of following one hell of a fullback and a fan favorite. I think he’s done a decent job and shown flashes at one of the hardest positions on the football field to learn.
I don't always fail, but when I do...
I do it awesomely.

A fullback with a concussion
is another term for "injury settlement ". It could be why the cats had no interest in Oniel Cousins.
