Any good corners or DT's expected?
RT @mortreport: League notifies teams of supplemental draft date of Aug. 17 but no players have been declared eligible…yet.

Is there any logical reason why the NFL will not sell me a package to watch NFL games streamed online? They show preseason live and even have a package to replay the games after they’ve completed w/o commercials. I live in NJ and work 10-7 on sundays, so I’ll never have the time to watch at home.
I know there will be low quality free streams that people post, but cmon guys, I want to give you my money! Let me watch them from the comfort of my workplace!
no
Those are the replay games that can be watched “after” the game has completed. I want fully live as its happening. Otherwise, I’ll end up finding a free low quality stream or watching the crappy NFL.com play by play thingy. I dont have time after work to watch games as I work over 80 hours a week but I can sneak a few minutes here or there while it happens.
If I know the final result, I won’t watch a replay. Waste of money.
The only way you can watch them live thru NFL.com is if you live outside of the States and UK.
I live in Italy and the game pass is the only way you can watch the games here, plus you can’t watch them online on military bases because it’s still considered US property.
Rocking the boat and righting the ship! Making the moves needed...Go Panthers!!!
They can't offer you that because..........
it conflicts with their DirecTv and network contracts. They have paid huge money for the exclusive rights to air the games live. Wouldn’t be fair for the NFL to turn around and air it live online.

I live...
in S. Korea where you have to get a satellite to get selected or the most popular games..a website I use to get a live feed of the Panthers game is http://atdhenet.tv/ it’s a pretty good website no complaints, I think it’s like a 20 – 30 sec delay on live action..
the problem
with atdhe.net is that it was shut down by the FBI for copyright violations. The way I found out was I logged on and this FBI notice came up. The same goes for p2p4u.net and channelsurfing.net
Re-read his link. atdhe.net was shut down, http://atdhenet.tv/ is the new link
Correct.
They had this site up within a day of the other being shut down.

jovox, I don't like it either but "kind of" understand....
The NFL has exclusive rights to almost everything NFL. They provide the broadcast rights for local teams to the local teams. Therefore, if there is any game where you are located or even if there is not but where you are located is a local market you can not watch any other games if the local team is playing at the same time as the team you want to see.
If they allow you to see a game in a market you are not located they have violated their agreement with the local team that is in the market your are located. If you are located somewhere that there is no local market (1/10th of 1% of the USA) you can watch anygame you want. I think everything I said was correct; but it is hard to see through the Hiniken bottle what I typed.
I get that, but the NFL Sunday Ticket lets you watch any game anywhere at the cost of a premium price. I’m willing to pay that price to have that same service but online instead of via a TV service since I do not have a tv at my workplace. I do have 3 computers that could be used.
i believe it has to go woth agreements they have made with tv stationsw
With that said I believe they are requiring directv to offer a streaming only iption for Sunday ticket in the next few years, but I’ve really only heard rumors of this currently.
I agree with you in that I am willing to pay to watch my team online since I live in chattanooga TN.
If you really want to do something, you will find a way. If you don't, you will find an excuse.

This is true
I live in the midwest and that is the only way I get all of the Panthers games is through Sunday Ticket and you can watch it online.
I cant do this.
I run a business 10-9 and cannot run cable/sat service in the building as per my lease. So i’d be paying for all those channels/boxes that I cannot use just for a stream service that could easily be offered(and is offered to those outside the US) for the same price. I’ll drop $120 for panthers only.
Even more odd is that the NBA and NHL have packages to let you watch 3-4 teams for a cheap fee and all teams for a higher fee online. Why can’t the NFL do this? They also have the same regional lock downs but seemingly have no issues. Its really just bad business. I’ll stop whining and just wait for the free stream links.
Just trying to help
but you might be able to get the service onine without paying for all the extra

You can stream the games to your computer or cell phone with Sunday Ticket
It is how I watch most games since I often have to work on Sundays. It is a premium cost, but it’s worth it. Though next year if I have a new job I will probably just use the money to get season tix and drive to Charlotte.
Goddamn quebecios! It is 35 miles per hour, not 35 kilometers per... whatever is metric for hour.
Can you have a dish installed at home?
Then all you have to do is stream the games online. The other option besides those websites mentioned is to find someone with Directtv and ask if you can attach a slingbox to their tv and pay for their Direct ticket. Then you can stream the games thru slingbox.
Goddamn quebecios! It is 35 miles per hour, not 35 kilometers per... whatever is metric for hour.
yes i can
but again, i work 10-9. I usually come home, eat dinner, watch netflix, go to sleep. I’m not gonna drop 80/mnth plus 350 for sunday ticket(that will never get used at home) and then the 50 extra for streaming. I dont watch regular tv, dont have time, so anything other than just streaming panther games is a waste of money.
I"ve used atdhe in the past and I’m not satisfied with their quality, even if free. Hence why I was more than willing to pay for a higher quality stream this year. NFL just doesn’t want my money.

Directv has been advertising Sunday ticket as free recently, at least in my area.

Appreciate your work, man. What observations have you made on the OL? How does Duke Robinson look this year? Is he playing with the 1’s? Anybody else looking good on the OL. I’ve been skeptical of Ziemba and am curious if he’s showing up on the radar at all?

: ) PFL i doubt if we'll see much in the nat'l until he has some impressive outings in games
i have to admit even myself, left FanFest gushing about him, the reality is it was a practice playing against a defense that couldn’t really hit/tackle most of the time. so what do we really know about him yet? not much. so it will have to wait for the games until that kind of thing will happen

DT help?
Justin Harrell is available – selected 16th overall by Greenbay has been plagued by injuries and is coming off an ACL. I say sign him for minimum with escalators if he can pass his physical. He’s 6’4" 315. Best thing I could find out there, sadly.
If he could pass a physical, that would be a nice one to take a flyer on...
he was a beast in college, and is still young enough to recover fully (with a little luck)

yeah, for some reason I feel better about Norwood than Brown even before his TC standout.
"My last name is Rivera but I ain't related to the coach, wish I was"
"Hope for the best plan for the worst"
"They laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at them because they're all the same"
Brown's biggest issue...
Is that he relies on the spin move. At least as of last season, he really didn’t have much else in his arsenal.

"When you get into coaching, you strive to be a Super Bowl-winning head coach. That’s what my goal is, to come here and become a Super Bowl-winning head coach and to sustain an atmosphere of winning." - Ron Rivera
he's got a big heart, great work ethic, and speed
it’s almost like he’s about 15 lbs from being great. i hope im wrong, but today’s (apparent possible) demotion doesnt speak well to his ability to be a legit #1 RDE in this league
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
I think..
Brown has the ability to be a very solid to very good defensive end… But I believe Norwood has the ability to be a nightmare for opposing linemen.

I'm kind of in-and-out...
So I don’t know how well I can “highlight.” Hopefully they will post a podcast soon. Rivera was just on, and I didn’t catch him saying anything that we didn’t already know.
Eugene Robinson was just talking about Ron Meeks and the DBs. He was speaking very highly of Meeks as a secondary coach. Robinson is a fan of Munnerlyn, but said that you can guarantee that if Munnerlyn’s a starter, teams will stick the tallest receivers on him to try to create mismatches.

"When you get into coaching, you strive to be a Super Bowl-winning head coach. That’s what my goal is, to come here and become a Super Bowl-winning head coach and to sustain an atmosphere of winning." - Ron Rivera
Hurney on...
Saying that they are very sad/disappointed that Ron Edwards was injured – and that Edwards was upset himself. Hurney said you’re always looking to upgrade if you can, but said that they really are excited about the young guys they do have at DT and think that they can contribute right now.
On WRs…
AE has improved immensely – as an WR and as a punt returner.
Naanee brings experience.
Gettis and LaFell are anxious to go.
Clowney is a speedy guy who can contribute to the vertical offense.
Also mentioned Wright, Guy, Martin.
There’s just a huge amount of competition there.
TEs…
Barnidge has had a “terrific start” and has caught a lot of attention.
Thinks that they have a great group of TEs – very important in this offense.
(Interjecting my opinion – I truly think that they may keep all 4 on the roster.)
Defense…
Front 7 will be incredibly aggressive and exciting/fun to watch.
"One play can win a game, but one play cannot lose a game." - Coach Peterson, Boise St.
"When you get into coaching, you strive to be a Super Bowl-winning head coach. That’s what my goal is, to come here and become a Super Bowl-winning head coach and to sustain an atmosphere of winning." - Ron Rivera
yeah i think the front 7 comment was telling
might be a rivera/opie philosophy that if your front 7 is attacking and strong, you can cover up some weakness at corner.
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
I do think that's true to some extent...
But there are some QBs that are just too good and can consistently escape the blitz or fire a laser before the blitz hits (Ryan, Freeman, Roethlisberger are examples). That can kill you – especially when you’re in the RZ.

"When you get into coaching, you strive to be a Super Bowl-winning head coach. That’s what my goal is, to come here and become a Super Bowl-winning head coach and to sustain an atmosphere of winning." - Ron Rivera
Group talking about Kasay...
They’re saying that he’s good enough to keep kicking somewhere. They said that the man is even greater than the football player.
Moving on from Kasay to the FO and staff…
They are looking to start winning now – based on the aggressiveness of re-signing their FAs (who were the top FAs available on the market) and on the acquisition of Olsen.
End of show. =/

Hello fellow Panter fans!!!! I am kinda new to this site and I really like the information. I am looking through some other sites to see if there are some DT that may fit the team. Is it me or is it every year the Panthers have a player go down in the one area we could least take the hit.
It's not just you.
And that position seems to be DT a lot of the time. James had a good article on it yesterday.

i didnt disagree with the principle
i didnt get why he was saying “those two aren’t good enuf to get it done” when neither one are going to be our starters. it would be like saying “i think our running game might struggle this year with sutton and vaughan” when DWill and JStew are sitting out a practice
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
Let's hope we have our starters ready
because Gamble has not practiced all week due to stomach virus that just won’t quit and we don’t know who our 2nd corner is.
But also you have to look at the fact that Gamble hasn't even sniffed the field.
And when you take into consideration the way Gamble ended the year last year, well I’m a little concerned. He may have a stomach bug, but things have been fishy with him for a while. And minus Hogan, you’re looking at Captain, Wilson, and Stanford as our top three CBs. I LOVE Captain, but that lineup makes me very, very nervous. I think that’s where he was coming from with that twat.

guess he’s just limiting practice time to help his healing to progress without a setback

whats wrong with captain again?
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
But I think they were holding him out because of some tightness or spasms – I think it was with his back, but it may have been with his legs.

lots of gadgets tonite..... woo hooooo
johnellis212 John Ellis
Cam is not under center, at all, on the parquet tonight. Gun, 11 personnel, one read, throw or go. Lot of gadgets, too.
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
tonite's starting offense
First-team Offense looks like this: QB Clausen, RB Williams, FB Fiammetta, WRs Smith and Gettis, TE Olsen, 8:28:36 PM Gross, LG Wharton, C C.J. Davis, RG Bernadeau, RT Otah, Kalil, Schwartz sitting out.
nice to see travelle. olsen with the ones is also noteworthy, it has been shockey until now

CJ moving inside on 3rd and long?
carolinagrowl Steve Reed
In third-and-long Charles Johnson moves inside to DT along with Corvey Irvin while Eric Norwood and Everette (cont) http://tl.gd/c90co5
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
its kinda what we did with brayton on passing downs
i like the idea because johnson definitely big and strong enough to play a few plays inside
lol sorry but

JC fumbles first snap back in.
im not sayin….im just sayin….. j/k

hate to hear this on mcclain (DT), wonder whats up
johnellis212 John Ellis
DT’s Hayden and Neblett are clearly 3 and 4 right now. Irvin/Fua starting. McClain clawing for reps.
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
he did get a late start
but undertackle is alot more competive right now then NT
Well...
Mentally, Irvin’s been around longer and may “get it” more than McClain. Also, apparently, Irvin has really turned it on this offseason. Being cut last year lit a fire under his ass. He may have the mental, emotional, and physical edges at the moment.

heard a rivera interview today where he praised irvin, so thats great to hear
i dont know what day it was on, but it’s good to hear that RR likes him
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
i think i heard from thi sight he can play both positions
but of course is suited for UT. if true that doesnt hurt
Cam still in gun, Chud working w/him on add’l reads. 80 pct of what’s installed for Cam looks like Auburn ’10.
This isn’t the SEC. And this isn’t Auburn but he did score 50+ touchdowns in that system. Putting the kid in a place he can succeed while he learns isn’t a bad way to go imo. Coaches tailoring there style to the weapons around them..BRILLIANT! lol

You can do that?

LK did u hear padded practice is tomorrow morning, not evening?

Yeah, saw that on twitter.
should be able to make it.

ok as a member of the cam kool aid club (CKAC) i dont want to post this but
johnellis212 John Ellis
Cam not in comfort zone w/ multiple reads. Looked a little frustrated 2plays ago…

looks like we got at least 4 TE's on our roster boys and girl
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
3 good TE That would...
be great a 3 TE set…1 in the backfield at FB with Goodson, 2 on the line and 1 WR. Pick your poison. Who do you defend? Is it a pass or a run? If it’s a pass, is it a screen to to the RB, or is it a fake screen for a pass over the middle to the FB or TE or a homerun pass to the WR. The options are limitless
here's an idea for trade bait
use shockey as trade bait for a DT/CB. he is the oldest and most injury prone, on the back side of his career, and a big name to make him more valuable in trade talks. barnidge is showing he’s a legitimate #2, and hartsock is our blocker/3rd TE. we really don’t need jeremy now that we have olsen, do we?
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
Bad Idea IMHO
Shockey has to much exp to not keep for a year and use and he is a super te over the middle
and a set with him and Olsen in at the same time would drive defense’s nuts
Im very excited about our team this year and i watched Cam’s fan fest video and was very impressed with some his throws, I fully believe he will be ready by the start of the season
and he will be our starter

i hear u guys....the barnidge news just got me thinking about our options
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
we wouldn't get very much for Shockey
i think we should consider the options in line-ups, not trades :)

Practice change
LK they changed practice tomorrow to the morning instead of the evening just so you know. That goes for anyone going down tomorrow night.
“@panthers: Schedule change: The Panthers will practice Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Wofford College rather than at 6:30 p.m. as originally scheduled.”

Son of a Bi....
I was excited about going tomorrow evening too.. any idea why they switched the time?

maybe because the gym workout was so light tonite after a day off
that spacing a tues. morn, wed. nite made more sense for their legs
"We want them to play fast, we want them to play physical, we want them to play hard and most importantly we want them to play smart." RR 8-3-11
Ahh, that does make sense..
Maybe I’ll just go Wedns. I guess it doesn’t really matter what day I go. I kinda did want to see the padded practice though.

Little King
Without your presence at the camp, and your transmitting of all going on, I would be a very, VERY uninformed Panther fan. I owe you a lot, and hopefully when I get money (let’s put a ten-year pause on this promise), I will buy us beers for the night. Thank you very much for all you’ve done :)
whatever steve smith can do, i cannot do better

Woot Direct tv will be coming Friday Morning with NFL sunday ticket and all that
Just in time for preseason now I don’t have to stream games.
I think for Direct TV to offer the sunday ticket free,
I think here it says you have to sign a 2 year contract but still, for them to give it free the nfl must be changing their contract with Direct tv soon or something.

directTV has been doing this promotion for years!!
I got it last season!! and what a waist of money that was…. 2-14 not to exciting! but in my book thy are a ripp off… B/c after the promo period they sign u up for the 180.00 dollar a month contract…BTW a month before they are suppose too.
and leave it up to you to spend two hour on the phone trying to get your money back!!! F DIRECTTV.. ill watch free streaming before i will pay them again!

Personally can't wait for the TV contract to be up so they can negotiate with the cable providers...
it’s not like 60% of the country utilizes cable for their TV viewing or anything lol
Nobody fucks with the Jesus! -Big Lebowski
once you sign up you can change plans at anytime
just because one had to signup with the high end package to get the special deal doesn’t mean you have to stay with it for the full contract. Of course they won’t tell you that. As soon as you sign-up, you can then call back and lower you package to a smaller cheaper version. Drop the movies channels etc.
But I understand the frustration.
If you really want to do something, you will find a way. If you don't, you will find an excuse.
Hate to be a dick but....
Bro… i’m no little kid!! I reduced my package[in the beginning] and they still did me wrong! don’t tell me how i did stuff wrong… i didn’t… I don’t like directtv… in the last 15 years they have done me wrong twice… don’t come at me like im a moron! you might have had a diff experience. so congrats dude!! i was warning anyone else of my horrible experience…
