In the sake of fairness, I though I should put up the video of Clausen's plays. You will notice that Jimmy is still not pushing the ball down the field. I saw him make better plays at training camp than he did at FanFest. To me, it's disconcerting that he doesn't have the confidence to let it go and he keeps playing not to mess up. Obviously, I do not know the play calls, but it looks to me like he settled for the check down as soon as he received the snap. I feel that his stance is still too wide and he hasn't really improved his release point. He's still playing "short" with that 3/4 release. Here are the plays that stood out to me. They don't tell the whole story, but it's a look into his progression (or lack there of, depending on your views).
Analysis and video after the jump...
1:40- One of Jimmy's first passes. He threw it away and got booed badly.
2:00- Bad snap but Jimmy get's it away and Smith does his thing. Great catch & nice ball spin.
2:38- Awesome Olsen touchdown catch. Something we've been lacking for far too long.
3:50- Jimmy throws BAD double coverage end zone INT.
4:39- Nice pass by Jimmy to All of a Sutton on a fade route from back field.
5:03- Another bad pass by Jimmy into double coverage. Should have been picked.
