Cam Newton's 1st Under Armour Commercial
You can find the commercial here. It is exciting to see a Panther as part of a national campaign. I'm sure they will make one that is centered around Cam in the future, but right now it is good to see him standing with some of the greatest athletes in their fields.
This article however makes it look like we will be seeing a commercial featuring Cam and Brady.
And possibly Justin Timberlake.
Yes ladies and gentlemen. Cam Newton is that big.
I still believe that Cam is the second coming of Larry Johnson, and can only hope that he has a healthier career than "Grandmama" did.
So I guess the only question is, "Jimmy, do you hear footsteps behind you?"

Its nice
To finally have an athlete that is up there in the marketability with Brady and Lewis. Now he has to play and earn the attention.
That's the dream.
So far he hasn’t done anything wrong. It is both exciting and frightening.
I am extremely pleased with whoever he has doing his PR work. Not doing any big interviews with major publications yet. Just a little spot in GQ and a non speaking commercial to reintroduce himself as a professional football player. He’s not using twitter or doing anything to be a big media “personality.” Cam is just working hard and spending lots of time with the fans. Letting his actions dictate his story.
If Cam keeps going like this, he is going to be a textbook case in sports PR on how to manage an overexposed client during their rookie year.
Goddamn quebecios! It is 35 miles per hour, not 35 kilometers per... whatever is metric for hour.
First of all...
I love that Peter Berg directed the commercial – Friday Night Lights was one of the best tv shows out there (writing, acting, and directing). If anyone on this blog has done himself (or herself) the disservice of never having watched Friday Night Lights, get Netflix or DVD box sets and watch it.
Anyway…
Also glad to see that Cam doesn’t speak in this one. No one can bring up old news about how he was perceived to view himself. Here he is just an athlete training to be the best he can for us.
Here, here! I have to say that it is pretty cool seeing a Carolina Panther in a commercial. I hope Cam plays up to his potential and earns his stripes so we can see more commercials like this.

And BTW...
I realized I was ambiguous – I know Friday Night Lights was originally a movie (Berg was more involved in that than the show), but I think the show’s better than the movie.
