PrintYou know the drill. I'll post my observations as they practice.
A few additional notes:
Despite what Derek Anderson said about coming in to compete, it quite evident he's not going to get that chance. He didn't take a snap yesterday and one would think if he would compete he would have taken some on his first day of eligible practice.
Jimmy Clausen still love the dump off pass, seemingly wanting to avoid mistakes in making him look better. I would say Clausen plays not to lose, Cam is playing to win.
Although DeAngelo Williams only has one practice this season under this belt, all three of our running backs have played well. It's exciting to see them all performing at this level, however, one has to question is our offensive live and running back that good or is our defense just that bad (or rather that far behind).

sutton is a great backup, but defly wont play RB much until
one of the top 3 are injured. should be a part of ST’s tho

With Cam no one wants to take a risk in saying that he will be a success. All I hear is safe answers at best, or with the real skeptics vemon that makes Merrill Hodge critique of Tebow seem kind.

Ive never said Cam would be ready to start game 1. I want to see him on the field but only when he is ready. If Clausen and Anderson are better options i have no problem going that route. Cam is the #1 pick as you said and the future of this team at QB. There is nothing wrong with being excited about his future. If you don’t like my opinion of him then dont read my posts or my comments. Its simple.

I say reserve judgement until we see how he does with a reliable QB in a reliable offense.
While I’d agree that his production lately doesn’t equal top 10, I’d wait until after this season is over to pass judgement.

on 3rd and long with his feet lol. Glad it is our turn. Too many times I was like “yes we got him (insert mobile qb)” only to end up winceing as the qb ran just enough to stick it to us.

Yeah Vick did it for years and Freeman got us a few times last year as well. It is a nice thing to have. Even though he is 6’5 250 i hope he runs more like Rodgers then Vick get the 10-20 yard pick up and get out of bounds. No need to take unnecessary hits

Thing is last big and moblie QB like him was Cullpepper and he did not like to slid. No shame in getting what you can without getting hit. What I can not wait to see is when he sheds an arm tackle and takes it 20 yards or finds someone down feild with the time he gained.

He is a bit more familiar than JC and Cam so I’m guessing needing less reps to get it downpat. Not to mention they are trying to get them 2 to “progress” in terms of skill.

Some teams perfer to let there feild go to crap so that they can use their knowelge of it for an advantage.

As the team gets more comfortable with the system, they almost HAVE to get better. If they don’t show any improvement from Week 1 to Week 17, then I’ll be very worried.

just got back.. Jimmy Clausen looked like a different QB tonight. Made great completions, was commanding the offense well. I cant explain it but something different about him tonight. A lot more calm and confident.
Cam also looked much improved from last friday, accuracy looking better and had some nice TD passes.

This injury to Ron Edwards is a real downer… more problems for a D-line already weak down the middle. I hope it isn’t bad, but it is hard to sugar coat an injury such as that.
