With no big FA WR signings, it was partially assumed that David Gettis or Brandon Lafell would be the #2 starting WR. With Moose's help it seems Armanti Edwards has turned a corner and looks worlds better than he did last year. Rivera has said that Edwards is in the race for the #2 slot as well. If that wasn't enough, Legedu Naanee, formerly of the Chargers, will be in the competition as well.
Legedu Naanee- hasn't really produced stand out numbers. He was plagued with injuries last season, only playing 10 games. Hasn't had any problems staying in trouble off the field either.
Armanti Edwards- didn't look promising in last year's preseason. John Fox never really gave him much time on Sundays to prove himself. It was expected to take a while before his transition from QB to WR would pay off.
Brandon Lafell- didn't perform quite as well last year as expected, but that could partly be due to Carolina's lack of a consistent passing attack. His breakout week was week 17 where he racked up 123 yards combined rushing and receiving.
David Gettis- started 13 games and performed well given Carolina's passing situation. Week 7 was his breakout week when he accumulated 125 yards in receiving.
