After being reminded of Derek Anderson's post-game outburst after getting blown out on MNF last season (a battle between the two teams the Panthers beat last season) I wondered whether he is a good fit for the 'mentor' role he seems slated for. I can't imagine he would really think winning the starters job in Carolina would be anything more than a few starts until Cam Newton is ready but you never know. By the way, I tried to find that video and it seems its now not available.
"Derek and Matt in camp kind of did their own thing," Skelton said. "They were established guys. They'd been around. They knew the ropes. They kind of had their own agendas.’’
With Anderson and Leinart both out of Arizona and Kevin Kolb on board, Skelton said things are better this year.
"I think the chemistry in the quarterback room alone is 10 times better than it was last year,’’ Skelton said.
Skelton may simply be looking for a goat for an otherwise terrible year at QB for the Cardinals. Let's hope Anderson doesn't bring an agenda other than to be a back-up. I'm not too worried about it but will keep an eye on it. Smitty hates to see people laughing on the sideline when the Panthers are losing.
