We can add yet another accolade to Jeremy Shockey's resume tonight as he literally saved the life of teammate Ben Hartsock who was choking in the Panthers' lunch room. According to the story by the National Football Post, Hartsock went to the bathroom after choking on pork tenderloin and was in bad shape (from Hartsock's agent Mike McCartney)
"He started to go to the bathroom and I don't know if he collapsed, but he couldn't breathe," McCartney said. "Some new guy came and tried to give him the Heimlich. It didn't work. Then, Shockey hit him in the back pretty hard and out came the meat. The Panthers told me it was really scary.
"Ben told me Shockey came over and gave me the Heimlich Maneuver and saved my life. He was in good spirits and he's real thankful for Shockey."
Personally I'm trying to work out what's cooler... the fact Shockey saved a teammate's life or the fact he's such a BAMF he can extricate lodged food with a punch to the back.
