Seahawks Trade CB Kelly Jennings & OT Cousins Claimed By Browns

The Seahawks have traded former starting CB Kelly Jennings (5-11, 180, a Combine 4.39-40), who had dropped to 5th or 6th on the CB depth chart, to the Browns for career Practice Squad player (all but around 4 games in 2010 of his 2 seasons) DT Clinton McDonald (6-2, 297, 4.83-40). While I like  McDonald's potential, he still only has a handful of NFL tackles. I posted around 2 or 3 days ago that Jennings would be a better trade option for the panthers than giving up a 3rd or 4th round pick for Hanson, but had no idea he would go this cheap.

The Browns claimed backup (only 4 starts in 3 seasons) OT Oniel Cousins (6-4, 314) off waivers from the Ravens. this means the Panthers weren't interested enough to put in a waiver claim.

The CB market is drying up fast, in addition to Jennings trade, the Patriots cut CB Jonathan Wilhite (5-11 a late growth spurt? only 5-9 1/2 when drafted, 185, 4.38-40), rather than CB Darius Butler. Wilhite hasn't played well for the Patriots, so the Panthers may not be interested in him. CB Ashton Youboty (5-11, 189, 4.39-40 at 2006 Combine)was cut by the Bucs after signing him to a 2 year free agent contract a month ago. He was never more than a deep backup with the Bills, so the Panthers will probably have no interest.
