This post is a collection of news tidbits that were too short for an individuat post.
TO himself said yesterday that he's still 2-3 months away from being ready to play, so anyone interested check back around midseason.
The Chargers cut TE/FB Dennis Morris (6-2, 255, 4.64-40) of Louisana Tech (38 catches, for 623 yards, and 12 TD's in 2009) yesterday will Chud be interested (maybe for the practice squad)? He was the Redskins #174 pick in the 2010 draft, but they traded him to the Rams during the Summer, and he was among the Rams final roster cuts, but the Chargers picked him up.
WR Tiquan Underwood (6-1, 183, 4.36-40), a 3rd year WR from Rutgers was cut yesterday by the Jaguars, He only had 8 catches for a 13.9 yard average in 2010, with no catches in 2008, but some team may take a chance on his speed. He was the Jaguars #253 pick in 2009.
QB Dennis Dixon (6-3 1/4, 209, 4.58-40) of the Steelers is fighting for a roster spot, and losing. He's dropped to 4th on the Steelers depth chart, behind Batch, and not sure why, but the Steelers are unhappy with him, with several stories saying he will be cut (he will be a free agent in 2012). He was only 1 for 10 in their first preseason game, but played well in the 2nd game. He's now 9 of 21, 42.9%, with 0 TD's and ints, his QB rating is 61.4, while #2 QB Leftwitch rating is 104.3. Several teams like the Dolphins, Bills, Seahawks, and Bengals may line up to claim him once he's cut.
2 older free agent NT's still havent signed (maybe teams are waiting until after the 1st game so their salaries won't be guaranteed to sign them) 38 year old run stuffer Pat Williams (6-3, 317), and 35 year old ex-Chargers NT Jamal Williams (6-3, 348).
Some interesting players who are on the bubble, and might be cut, 3rd year CB Darius Butler (5-10 3/8, 190, 4.32-40, 1.46-10, 43 inch vertical), 49ers rookie CB Cory Nelms (6-0, 191, 4.41-0), 49ers rookie S Colin Jones (5-11 1/2, 201, 4.34-40), 49ers rookie NT Sealver Siliga (6-1 3/4, 319, 5.35-40), ex-Chargers 3-4 DE Igor Olshansky (6-6, 315), Cowboys RB Tashard Choice, and Lions rookie OT/OG Johnny Culbreath (6-5, 322, 4.92-40) of SC St.
