Panthers Camp: "It is What it is" Is No More

Leave it to RB DeAngelo Williams to put the Foxism's into their final resting place:

"The 'It is what it is' is no more. It's time to go," Williams said Sunday, a not-so-subtle reference to former coach John Fox's conservative approach to both football and public pronouncements.

Preach it brother Williams! Seriously by all accounts from those in attendance at the Panthers first weekend of practice (except maybe Peter King) the Panthers have exhibited a fresh, loose but upbeat attitude. It is a welcome thing to behold from a franchise trying to lift itself up from a terrible season.

I guarantee you the positive atmosphere has a lot to do with the Panthers taking care of their own free agents expediently. Williams is one of several who really didn't want to leave Charlotte, were rewarded and consequently exude that happiness on the practice field:

"There were some other teams out there that were looking at me that gave me a pretty good deal too but ultimately came down to not wanting to leave. I love it in Charlotte," Williams said.

Just to throw in a super-teaser, for those that thought maybe WR Armanti Edwards might get to throw the ball, think again...actually think LT. As in LaDanian Tomlinson, who has thrown 12 passes over his career, 7 for TD's. RB passes are certainly in a Chud offense and we know D-Will can toss the pigskin. Williams finishes this interview by addressing the elephant in the room:

"You never know what it holds down the road but I know one thing - we're not going to be the team we were last year. We all have that bitter taste in our mouth and we want to get it out," Williams said.

A bitter taste indeed.
