Steve Reed seems to have his finger on the pulse of the Panthers as much as anyone these days. He thinks the Panthers have some interest in signing Rogers to start opposite Chris Gamble:
If the Panthers can land the 6-foot, 189-pound Rogers it would represent a significant upgrade for the Panthers. Carolina finished 11th in the league in pass defense last season. Rogers started 12 games last season with the Redskins and had 54 tackles, two picks and one forced fumble.
I believe the issue with Rogers is staying healthy as you can see he only played 12 games last season. Whether he is an upgrade over Munnerlyn might be debatable but given the lack of free agent CB's on the market at this point we at least need someone to compete. If we could bring in a vet CB I think it would address the last remaining question mark on this team.
