WE NEED A CORNER.
We have re signed the people we needed to resign, made it official with Cam, and picked up Greg Olsen. This offseason started off fantastic. But now we have lost perhaps our best cornerback, Richard Marshall to our first regular season opponent, the Cards. Now we need to make a move for a corner. We aren't showing interest in anyone. Something needs to be done. Munnerlyn played strong at the end of the year last year and Hogan looks promising, but Chris Gamble is just flat out overrated. We won't be able to keep our reputation of a great pass defense without Marshall in there. We have great young safeties with Godfrey and Martin to back up the young corners, but corner is definitely a position we need to improve at. Carlos Rogers and Antonio Cromartie could be a couple of studs we could go after. Let's see what Richardson and Hurney will do.

Richard M
was the worst starting corner on the team, at best he’s nickle corner. Cromartie is overrated as well, not that much better than Gamble besides 07 and this yr( was solid). I don’t mind Rogers as a stop gap though.
Richard Marshall perhaps the best we had
Richard is that you? He is probably the best cb Arizona has now, lol. I agree we do need to get a quality cb to avoid leaving a gap for the offense to exploit. I do really believe that our guys will light him up like a Christmas tree first game. Our starting receivers know all his weak spots, and to be honest he wouldn’t be that hard to burn going by last year. I will say Gamble needs to work on run support and his open field tackling instead of just diving at a guys ankles, break down square up and stick your shoulder tween the sternum and wrap up.

I just asked a Cards fan
and he told me that Greg Toler and Marshall are both locks to start week 1. Please Cards..puts Marshall on Smitty
Guacamole <3
LMFAO
Can’t wait until Smitty breaks Marshalls ankles!!!
But I wish Marshall all the luck in Arizona

Who the hell drafts Peterson and shits him?
I know not enough time to get up to speed fully, but the man is a freak athlete, god knows he couldn’t be worse than Marshall, but I do hope they line up Marshall on Smitty if true, lmao.

Apparently the Cards...
Idk if we had PP7 I would start him over Gamble

would not put marshall ahead of munnerlyn
statistically and in just about every level, marshall’s a below average corner with above average tackling at his position (maybe giving him too much credit). most of the tackles he piled up were the ones made after he was beat to the spot.
i would like cromartie on our team who could add a lot of athleticism to the secondary.

I hope some how they dont get what they want
and maybe we’ll get him for cheap…. also dont see that happening unfortuantley
We have already let it be known that we are interested in Samuel
it is just a poker game now. I think they (PHI) are weighing keeping him on the roster vs clearing a spot for another need (do they have any now?). Or, waiting for us to offer up something big.
Would you do this deal?
Asante Samuel and Cleveland’s 2012 5th rounder (acquired in the Brodrick Bunkley trade) for Philly hometown boy Dan Connor and a 2013 2nd rounder. The Panthers should be much improved by the end of the 2012 season, so that wouldn’t be like a low 1st, and the Eagles have Arizona’s 2012 2nd from the Kolb deal. Plus, you can sign Tatupu for a veteran LB replacement. Is that deal somewhere in the ballpark?

and marshall was rated as one of the worst corners in the league in terms of letting passes be completed

Gamble is outstanding
Marshall was awful, check the numbers on pro football focus. You need to take a closer look. Gamble is a shutdown CB. If he was so overrated then he would be gone and Marshall would’ve been retained.
Agree on Marshall, but Gamble isnt a shutdown corner
He is good but not great – I still think we overpaid him. Dont mind us keeping him but I think it has more to do with his large contract versus his production.
In his defense, however, he and Fox didnt get along (that actually makes me like him more) and under Rivera he may really play up to his potential this year.
Who said Gamble was over rated
I didn’t I said he needed to work on run support and open field tackling.

I know he is insane
But I would still take a flier on Talib, for the right price…
someone get the do not want dog
NO WAY

Talib is likely to be suspended more than eligible for play. See below..........

We may be waiting until after the rosters are cut to 53 players to make a move
Why overpay for someone that will get cut?
