Falcons cut their pre-Roddy #1, Michael Jenkins, today. Jenkins was a great slot receiver who at times flashed for the Falcons during his hey day in 07-08. Injuries slowed the speedster down, but he had his moments last season. The release may have come in order to clear room for pursuit of a DE or another CB (but who is left at this point).

Just in off the wire - Falcons signed Ray Edwards. Details of the deal arent yet available. Edwards was one of the best D players left out there, but with his signing, and the departure of Jamaal Anderson and Jenkins, the Falcons are thin at a number of positions, including CB, S, DE, and WR (not to mention RB).
If Abraham can stay healthy, this could be a problem for us, then again, since we have added so many weapons in the offseason, maybe they felt forced to spend to get Edwards, which will handicap their ability to replace stalwarts like Gonzalez when he decides to retire.
