Rumor has it that Jules is going to start carrying a Carolina Panthers' wallet... at least it will match his shirt
If you've frequented CSR in the last few months you'll know that we've liked to throw the term 'BAMF' around liberally. In literally means 'Bad *** Mother *****' but really, it exemplifies an attitude more than anything. This attitude is one of conviction, strong will, and getting things done. In recent months it was used to explain Jerry Richardson throughout the CBA negotiations, or Ron Rivera as he talked about building this football team; last year it was used (and still is) to discuss Jon Beason, who we now know will be along for a long, long time.
Truly the BAMF attitude has spread throughout the organization, and never is this more prevalent than with GM Marty Hurney. Prior to this week Hurney was the one who didn't really seem to have this aggressiveness, instead he had a soft spoken, bookish passivity to him. Rather than being a man of action like Richardson and Rivers, Hurney was the 'cap guru'. In my book, if you're described as a 'cap guru' then you fit comfortably between 'Dungeon Master' and 'World of Warcraft Guild Leader' in terms of nerdiness, and I should know... I've done them. However, all that changed this week when Hurney and Richardson went about enacting their plan which has been years in the making. One of streamlining this franchise, and replacing all the bad contracts with good ones.
This process wasn't easy, and the journey certainly isn't over yet- the work is just beginning. However, for right now, for the moves made, Marty Hurney has officially become a BAMF.
