The hits just keep on coming! I can barely keep up here, but we're trucking along on CSR through one of the wildest weeks I can remember as a Panthers fan. Yesterday Jeff King left for Arizona, so we signed basically a better version of King in Ben Hartsock, formerly with the NY Jets.
Hartsock is a mammoth TE at 6'4", 268 lbs and an integral part of the running game in New York. He's definitely not a pass catching threat by any means, but his ability to seal the edge should provide immediate dividends to DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Cam Newton in the ground game.
I have never seen the Panthers be this aggressive in free agency. It's clear they had a plan, knew the players they wanted and are hitting their marks quickly. This signing came just minutes after DeAngelo Williams resigned and represents just how many fronts the Panthers are operating on at the same time. I have no idea what to expect next.
