DL coach Eric Washington

1

Here's a video posted on the Panthers site. Washington discusses the importance of the NT (important that he consistently commands the double-team) and how that's going to affect the MLB. Also, he says that Fua and McClain are suited to for the roles he wants to use them in (if I remember correctly, Washington spent a day in a private session with McClain before the draft). Also, here is a link to an article from the website discussing his background. A few interesting tidbits: 2005 - Washington interned with Lovie Smith and the Chicago Bears. 2008 - Promoted to assistant DL coach with the Bears. 2010 - Promoted to DL coach with Bears. 2011 - Hired by the Panthers/Rivera. (Rivera was DC with the Bears during Washington's internship.) A great quote: "First and foremost, I was attracted to being able to work under a staff that was going to be directed by Coach Ron Rivera," Washington said of his move to Carolina. "Having worked with him previously while he was in Chicago, I developed a tremendous amount of respect for how he goes about his daily business, how he manages players, how he teaches, how he leads. Naturally, I wanted to be a part of that."
