Editor's note: The original title of this post was "Panthers players play with planking craze" but thankfully BW Smith saved me with a much more P-filled title.
Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to get one more 'p' word as a synonym for craze... such is life.
If you've missed the various reports on CNN, the photo gallery on SI.com or on Twitter, 'planking' is sweeping all major sports in this country in a very bizarre fashion. The 'planking' entry on Wikipedia refers to it as a 'lying down game' first started in England in 1997, with the term 'planking' being coined in Australia in 2011. Basically the premise is mind numblingly simple: lay face down in a random place. That's it... no special technique, no inherent ability required. This has caught on like wildfire across Twitter with a vast number of athletes succumbing to the planking craze and posting photos.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of this planking craze. It doesn't hurt anyone, so whatever floats your boat and the one-ups-man-ship displayed by the athletes across the sports is rather amusing. We'll see if any more Panthers get addicted to planking. What do you think about it?
