The original Panther vs. the greatest of the new(er) Panthers.
This match-up pits long standing veteran kicker John Kasay against Pro Bowl MLB Jon Beason. At this point Jon Beason has squeaked through each of the rounds with fans wanting to vote for him, but thinking he needs a little more seasoning before getting this far. Meanwhile, Kasay received a bye and this is his first time in the voting.

John Kasay, K
Statistics as a Panther: 221 games, 351 FG, 75.5% accuracy
Accolades: Pro Bowl (1996)
For over 200 games John Kasay has quietly donned the black and electric blue for the Carolina Panthers. Every major event that has happened to this organization Kasay has been there for. A consummate professional who never makes waves, always does the right thing and is immensely respected by his teammates. It takes a special player to keep his job even when his strength is declining, but this occurred with Kasay as the Panthers elected to bring in a kick off specialist and willingly sacrifice a roster spot rather than find a replacement for Kasay.
Jon Beason, MLB
Statistics as a Panther: 64 games, 540 tackles, 8 INT, 3 FF
Accolades: Pro Bowl (2008, 2009, 2010), All Pro (2008, 2009)
In a short time Jon Beason has proved to be the undeniable leader of the Carolina Panthers. When he arrived in Charlotte as a 1st round pick in 2007 he saw a team in desperate need of a defensive leader and went about filling that role. Since that time Beason has further taken on the role as leader and with the departure Jake Delhomme he cemented himself as the 'go to' leader on both sides of the ball. When this is coupled with outstanding on field play, averaging 135 tackles each season you have a player who is on the fast track to 'greatest ever' whether it's now, or in the future.
