2012 Draft's NT's
The Panthers may not be able to add a veteran free agent NT this season, unless the Ravens 34 year old Kelly Gregg is cut, the 49ers 30+ Aubrayo Franklin is about the only free agent NT available this season, but both are just short-term stop-gaps. The Panthers #97 draft pick Sione Fua is a NT, but small at around 310 pounds, and many scouts believe he will never be more than a backup. So here is a look at who might be some of the top NT's in the 2012 draft, from walterfootball.com (WF), and nfldraftscout.com (DS) Dt rankings.
2012 NT's (Seniors):

#33 (DS) - Nicholas Jean-Baptiste (6-2, 316, 5.05-40 DS) of Baylor
#47 (DS) - 5th-7th rd. (WF) - D'Angelo McCray (6-3, 335, 5.22-40 DS) (WF 6-4, 325, 5.28-40) of Memphis

#41 (DS) - Brandon Williams (6-2, 325 DS)of Missouri Southern St.
4th-6th rd. (WF) - Kerry Murphy (6-4, 325, 5.25-40 WF) of Alabama, may have long-term knee problem
2014 NT's ("redshirt"Soph.):
#1 (DS) - Kwume Geathers (6-5, 348, 5.33-40 DS) (6-6, 326, DS Chad Reuter) of Georgia, "Jumpy's" nephew
NOTE: Only 21 DT's were drafted this year, and these rankings will probably change greatly over the the season, but it's a good list of names to watch.

Nice List
Don’t know enough about them to speak about who I like. But this Wouldn’t be an issue If we had our second rounder this year. I wouldnt sell Fua yet let’s let him get some PT. F what the scouts think.

I know he's very small for the position...
But going back and watching Andre Neblett more and more…he is an effective NT.

I agree, there's reason for optimism with Neblett -- per ProFootballFocus: Give This Guy More Snaps
Has anybody seen Otah. What, did he just fall off the planet, or become a new one?
I would like to see us make a run for a good NT FA prospect
Throwing rookies at a position until it fixes itself isn’t the most sensible way to build a franchise…increase the chances of current rookies developing by adding a solid player who has proven themselves, so master-apprentice relationships can form and knowledge is infused in the position roster. The dream scenario, to me, would be to pick up someone like Barry Cofield or Brandon Mebane, with Cofield being the more realistic signing of the two.
I Love Both Cofield & Mebane
I love both Cofield (6-4, 304) and Mebane (6-1, 309), but neither are big wide body NT’s. It would be nice to have at least 1 330 pounder to throw into the action if a team is running well on the Panthers.
I hear Sally Strothers in available.

Mebane's Weight
If the 330 pounds is correct for Mebane, then the Seahawks have been misreporting his weight. Here are his weights as listed on the Seahawks roster.
2011 – 311
2010 – 311
2009 – 314
2007 – 309 (Combine)
