One of the more bizarre shots at the Panthers during the lockout
This rates among the more bizarre stories of this NFL offseason, and even the British are taking some shots at the Carolina Panthers for their 2-14 season. In Albequerque, NM sits Krystal's NFL Shoppe... remember, when you spell shop with two P's and an E you know it's classy. Regardless, two criminals decided it would be a good idea to steal authentic NFL jerseys from the shoppe, ultimately making away with $600 worth of merchanidise. A few days later they returned and were caught by store security.
What makes this different than your average run of the mill shoplifting case is when the media interviewed the owner of Krystals, an Englishman he said taking a Carolina Panthers jersey showed that she "clearly had no taste".
So remember folks, crime doesn't pay-- and if you are in the need of an NFL jersey in the New Mexico area you may not want to head to Krystal's Shoppe... after all, wouldn't want them to think you have no taste.

some of the comments are funny…We are 2-14 every team with the worst record becomes the butt of the joke. Hopefully with Ron and company and Mr Newton this will be the last time for a long time we are in this situation.

They are probably Cardinals fans being one state away in NM...
One of the two teams we beat last season.
"Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one around here who gives a sh!t about the rules? Mark it zero! "
We dont have a lot of Cardinal fans.
With the exception of me, its mostly a bunch of bandwagon fans or fairweather Cowgirl fans.

I was in Orlando, Florida last week
I was rockin’ my panthers hat with pride and I met no less than 15 people that had to comment on my hat and that they were also panther fans. Two of which were from Charlotte, one from Raleigh, and the rest did not specify a location. We may be the but of all jokes but we are still many and very proud. And why are we worried about what an Englishman has to say, All they know about is soccer anyway.

New Mexico: One of few states to not host a single franchise from any of the four major sports leagues
I guess all you can do is rag on another team, when you don’t have one of your own to talk about.
I’m sure they hold awesome Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals pep rallies on a regular basis.
Cam Newton for '11 ROY!
Naw, they're all cowgirl fans around here.
That and whoever is winning! The gangbangers all like the Raiders and Denver has their share. We love our Lobos and let’s not forget one in particular named Winslow Oliver.

Wow
A Panthers jersey out west? Damn! I cant even find one in the sports stores on the mid-Atlantic coast. While I don’t condone stealing, kudos for the suspect to have a good taste in teams. Well played…well played.

Im from Alb.,NM and a diehard Panther fan!
I will now boycott Krystals! We have a bunch of Cowgirl fans here. Followed by Denver, the Raiders, and then by whichever team is winning. Its true, we’re a poor state so we have no pro teams. That’s why having been born in Ashville, NC, I was elated to have a “home” team in 1995. In fact, my first jersey is simply the number 95 because at that point the franchise didn’t even have a roster yet. Unfortunately, I believe I puchased that jersey from Krystal’s. Never again will that shop receive my cash! Panther Nation be assured there is at least one “DesertCat” flyin’ our colors. Unlike these fairweather Cowgirl fans and all the other bandwagons, I represent our fan base proudly. I wore my jersey to the sports bar every Sunday during our 1-15 season. When razzed by the Cowgirl fans you may imagine their anger when I replied that “unlike Dallas, Panther fans are loyal!” As a Panther fan I’ve been subjected to many an insult and fist fights. In fact, my ’95 jersey has some Cowgirl fans bloodstain!

I took my Panther Pride with me when I lived in Dallas for 5yrs.
I even worked on Cowboy Stadium wearing my Panthers hardhat! In fact, there are more that a few mirrors that have “cowboys suck, Panthers rule” written on the back of them! Imagine those players primping in the locker room not knowing that some construction worker wrote Panther Pride on the back of it before sticking it to the wall!!!

And with that...
a handful of seemingly mundane public bathroom mirrors in Texas became priceless collector’s items overnight.

"clearly had no taste"
sorry mr. englishman but I guess the fact that you would sell panthers jerseys in your shop shows that you “clearly had no taste” then
James, it's spelled Albuquerque.
Thanks for the post James, I’m officially boycotting Krystal’s now! I was unaware of that and I live here.

Just like a certain journalist, we can voice our displeasure with these Brits via email. Feel free to contact Andy or Sue at andy@krystalsnfl.com or sue@krystalsnfl.com. So have at it.

I live in Albuquerque as well.
I’ll never shop there again, not that it was a great store to begin with. However one small correction, I believe the owner is actually a Aussie, not a Brit.(not that it matters)
We should unite!
Get together and watch games. Perhaps show up in electric blue and force the owner to wear our jersey as well! Then we can post it on this website if he tries to make amends.
