So I was reading up on NFL.com and noticed a very interesting article in which Carolina Panther Steve Smith opened up more on his current situation and future with the team. Smith even announced that he briefly considered to retire due to his wife's,Angie, health scare, but is now back to focusing on football. This is huge considering the amount of passion he has for the game of football. For anyone wondering what exactly happened all I know is that she has lupus, a disease that affects the immune system.
I can clearly see where Smitty is coming from and if i were him I would of dropped football in a second. If Smitty ever does leave, which I'm praying he doesn't, I'd understand his reasoning and intentions behind it even if it is to another team like the chargers, we know he has family there and he's most likely researching they types of treatment offered in Cali compared to Charlotte. Nonetheless Panther or not I wish Smitty the best he is one of the few football players that clearly have their priorities straight.
"Obviously, skills are diminishing, losing a step. So we'll see," Smith said, mocking critics. "We'll see how many 24-year-olds can cover a 32-year-old, 4.3 runner, wide receiver who wasn't supposed to be here anyway."
-love the fact that this man still has a chip on his shoulder.
