More on Terrell McClain from those who know him best...

Bad things happen when you tango with the Dancing Bear.

Last week I wrote the breakdown of Terrell McClain and if you haven't read that piece you can find it here, concurrently, Ken DeCelles from SB Nation's USF blog "Voodoo Five"  gave me a breakdown of 'The Dancing Bear' so us Carolina Panthers fans would have some more information on him.

A big thank you to Ken for helping us out, and after the jump what he had to say about Terrell McClain.

Let me be the first USF fan to congratulate you on drafting Terrell McClain. You are getting a great player who had four great years wearing the Green and Gold. There are some people who have concerns about the lack of production the Dancing Bear had this year, but I don't think you have to worry about that with Terrell at the next level.

USF had a very strong front four this year led by McClain, who consistently battled against a double team all year. The Bulls had a Top 30 run defense, only giving up 125 yards per game this season. Most teams combated this with a lot of speed options, bubble screens, and 3-step drops to neutralize the pressure caused by our front four.

There were only a couple of teams that ran more of a pro-style running game, and those were by far the best games in McClain's career. Terrell had a career high 6 tackles against Miami including 1.5 TFLs. The next week against UConn, Terrell had 5 solo tackles against the Huskies.

He is still a little raw technique wise, but he has a terrific motor and will not stop on a play. If there is something he needs to work on, it's over committing on a play. He's shown over the past four years that he can consistently contribute at a high level, and make everyone around his team better. He will take a double team so your linebackers will have a free lane to the running back. He can get at it in pass rushing situations, and has broken many a pocket so that your defensive ends can pick up the scraps. I've never heard a bad thing about him while at USF and was a great teammate when he was here.

You guys have a great player in The Dancing Bear, and we hope you guys keep using the nickname. We at Voodoo Five wish him the best of luck and hope he has a great career except when the Panthers play the Bucs
