According to Tom Sorensen of the Charlotte Observer, The Carolina Panthers are down to its top three prospects, all of which are out of the SEC. The Panthers are in love with Cam Newton, AJ Green, and Patrick Peterson. Common sense would dictate that of these three prospects, the quarterback would be the more likely pick at #1. It seems as though the ball in is Newton’s court this week as he comes in to meet with team officials, as well as Jerry Richardson personally, as the direction we go with top pick will likely be decided by this meeting. If Newton does not impress the Panthers this week, the team will have to decide whether is wants an offensive or defensive stud in Green and Peterson, respectively. As for Blaine Gabbert, it appears he is out of the race for the #1 pick. Sorensen writes, "If Carolina trades down, and Newton, Green and Peterson are gone, it could take Gabbert. But I swear that's the only way." Quite strong words saying that Gabbert won’t be the pick, and quite the contrary to what many national pundits are saying. This also supports Darin Gahtt’s views on the quarterback for a while now. So what does the Panther’s nation think about top three prospects the Panther’s love?
