Panthers add three players in 4th, 5th and 6th round

Brandon Hogan figures to add depth at CB, and potentially challenge to start opposite Chris Gamble.

The Carolina Panthers flipped the script on a lot of fans as they went against the grain taking players who they clearly had highly rated, even if the national pundits didn't agree.

Those players are:

Brandon Hogan, CB, West Virginia

Kealoha Pilares, WR, Hawaii

Lawrence Wilson, LB, Connecticut

We'll look at the picks after the jump...

Both Hogan and Pilares suffered injuries their final year, but both are extremely athletic and have very good upside. There are some concerns about Hogan's behavioral issues, however, the Carolina Panthers will bet they can pull him into the fold and work with him.

Pilares is an intriguing prospect because in a lot of ways he resembles a player we have- small, gritty, strong and plays with a chip on his shoulder... ring any bells?

Lawrence Wilson is a tough, hard hitting, blitzing linebacker who many projected as a 3rd round pick. He finished the season with 123 tackles, 10.5 for a loss and 3.5 sacks.

All three are very intriguing picks, and though fans may not have heard much about them all three both Mike Mayock and Todd McShay believe all three have starting potential, with Wilson being the most ready to contribute immediately.

What do you think of the picks?
