Panthers Draft History Review: 2000 Bust

Continuing our review of the Panthers draft history, we now return to the 2000 draft to pick the Bust of that draft (if there was one). Let's take a look at the candidates:

1 (23) CB Rashard Anderson

Anderson played two seasons for the Panthers, compiling 9 starts, registering 46 tackles, 4 PDs and one INT. In May of 2002 he was suspended by the league for failing a drug test, then lost the next season after failing to meet the requirements of his reinstatement. He was toast after that. 

3 (82) G Leander Jordan 

Though Jordan played only two seasons for Carolina he did last another 6 in the NFL. He played in 13 games with 5 starts for the Panthers in 2001 before getting released in the offseason.

To get a 3rd option I dipped into the 4th round:

4 (120) DT Alvin McKinley

McKinley only lasted a season in Carolina but then played 8 more seasons, 5 with the Browns. Though he saw action in 7 Panther games he did not record a stat. He eventually became a starter for the Browns in 2005 & 2006.
