Obviously you can tell im an Auburn fan by my name. But, im just wondering where everyone is getting this information about Blaine Gabbert being good. If you look at his stats, cleary Newtons are better and he did so against better competition. Gabbert wasn't even first nor second team Big 12. He was an honorable mention. As for Newton, he won the SEC championship, the National Championship and the Heisman Trophy. Combining for 51 total touchdowns at Auburn rushing, passing, and one receiving. While Gabbert accounted for only 20 total touchdowns. Another point i would like to make is that Newton has won back to back national championships with two totally different teams. At Blinn JC, he stepped in with a brand new team and took them to a National title. Thats not saying much, but a year later he was with a brand new team in the toughest conference in America, and did the same at Auburn. Do you see some sort of pattern here? Im not saying this will translate to the NFL, its a lot different than college, but why wouldn't you pick this guy. He is a physical freak of nature. The only other freaks i have seen in the draft the past few years that remind me of the body and physical attributes Cam has, is only Julius Peppers and Patrick Willis at their respected positions (I'm talking about speed, strength and physical build). If the Panthers pick anyone at number one other than Newton or Patrick Peterson or trade down to pick up some more picks, i will be very upset with our organization.
