I'll be the first to admit that I love Pro Football Focus. Those guys really do a great job, and I relied heavily on their site up until last year. They opted to move to a paid subscription model that was a little too rich for my blood, but they still have really good information on their site for free.
One of those was an article today about a Carolina Panther whose excellence they believe is flying completely under the radar. Hint: It's not Charles Johnson or James Anderson- nor is it any of the usual suspects and I was taken aback while reading the piece. Who is it? We'll discuss... after the jump
- They believe early failures on the right side of the line were due to Bernardeau, not Schwartz
- By their measurements Schwartz dominated Casey Hampton in week 16, and only had one negative blocking play in that game.
- They believe Schwartz could be the future at RT for the Carolina Panthers
- Schwartz impressed the PFF team so much they had him in strong consideration for their 2010 Pro Bowl team
I've been a long time proponent of Geoff Schwartz, and at times been too much of an apologist for him- but I have to admit even I was stunned at reading this piece. Now all I have is more questions: Does this mean Otah is better suited at RG? Are they on the money about Schwartz? Could this mean we potentially have a Pro Bowl LT, C and RT?
What do you think CSR community? Is Geoff Schwartz as good as PFF advertise? Keep in mind they're completely impartial.
