Report; Panthers not locked into taking DL for no.1 pick.

Report

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/41927548/ns/sports-player_news/   From the article;

They are reportedly concerned about the health of many of the draft's top defensive lineman, and are set to take "long looks" at both Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert. Observer writer Joseph Person speculates they may even consider LSU CB Patrick Peterson. Although the Panthers have a huge need along their defensive line, they are most concerned with landing an impact player. Newton, Gabbert and Peterson would all fit that bill if Carolina decides there's no lineman worth taking first overall.

I knew this from the get go. Frankly this draft is shaping up to be 2010 all over again. Everyone thought the Rams would pick a defensive player for the number 1 pick and instead picked a franchise QB Sam Bradford and BTW, its working out very good for them so far.

I honestly think its coming down to Cam or Blaine. The way Rivera keeps saying over and over that you NEED a franchise QB to make it in this game.  Also the way Rivera heaped praise upon Cam when asked about him at the combine. ill let you draw your own conclusions but I think its Cam or Blaine.
