We knew this was going to happen, right? Putting Jordan Gross up against Matt Ryan in the 1st round of the Madden 12 cover vote would end badly, but I didn't know it would end this badly.

Gross only received 11% of the vote to Ryan's 89% and has been officially eliminated from the competition. What?! You mean NFL fans around the country don't want the starting left tackle of a 2-14 team on their video game this year? I'm shocked.

Granted, while I'm not really one for superstitions, hoodoo or any other form of voodoo I don't think I wanted any fate being tempted if Gross somehow magically found his way onto the cover this year. The Panthers have enough to worry about this season as they build with a new regime without having to worry about some sort of curse too. If there's one thing 'The Brady Bunch' taught me it's that you don't mess with Tiki idols or curses, you also don't play football in a precarious enough spot where you could easily bust your attractive sister's nose... but that's another story.
