Chris Mortensen via Twitter let many more Wonderlic's out of the bag this morning including Cam Newton who according to the ESPN analyst has scored a 21 on the test.
Clearly, you can't compare Newton's score with the abysmal 6 that Vince Young scored, but it's not a very impressive score that rates below last year's worst 1st round QB Tim Tebow who scored a 22. Just last night I discussed the importance of a good wonderlic, and while it's not the be all and end all, this really isn't a very good score for entice people into believing he's a #1 overall pick. That being said, he did score better than Washington QB Jake Locker who scored a 20.
After the jump I'll have the full list of scores we now have.
- Greg McElroy: 43
- Blaine Gabbert: 42
- Christian Ponder: 35
- Ricky Stanzi: 30
- Andy Dalton: 29
- Ryan Mallett: 26
- Cam Newton: 21
- Jake Locker: 20
