It would make sense.

 Panthers should get Carson Palmer.. thoughts?  I think its a possibility, we need a QB and we need a veteran QB, Palmer wants out of Cincinnati and Steve Smith Wants out of Carolina. Put 2 and 2 together and trade Smith for Carson Palmer. Both are up there in age and Palmer could show Clausen the ropes and teach him a thing or two and by the 2012 season Clausen will be ready to go.
