What If Cam got injured?
With our current group of Qb's, If Cam Newton got injured in the first game of next season, what would your reaction be? Oh Sh!T? WTF? We're Screwed? Better yet ,what do you think our record would be? What would be our offensive ranking look like? In my opinion, his injury would be more devastating than Jon Beason and Thomas Davis combined. Its Back to 2010 no matter who we draft. UNLESS its RG3. Can u imagine Claiborne, Poe, some other line backer, and some other saftey (minus)Newton in 2012 or beyond? Do we really believe in Derke "I take this Sh!t serious" Anderson/ or Jimmy "Fill in the blank" Clausen. You see, When You buy a new Ferrari, the first thing you go buy isn't new rims , or a stereo system. The FIRST thing you go and buy is INSURANCE...DuhHHH!!! Now The perfect insurance For Newton, in my opinion, is Matt Kalil. But if reports are true and he's returning to USC ( THE FAKE ONE), the next logical insurance policy for our Ferrari is RGIII. That our GEICO, AFLAC, and AArP. IF Newton Gets hurt, who wouldn't blitz the sh!t out of DA or J.C.. (Not that Jesus Christ, he's already in Denver). Better Yet, WHO wouldn't beat the sh!t out the PANTHERS? RG3 Hands down with the !st pick of the 2012 daft you can pick anyone else after that and we'll still be WINNING!!!

No.
Sorry, I can’t board this train with you buddy. We can play the ‘what if game’ all day long, I just choose not to.
Kinda tempting fate here, aren't we?

Newton for '11 ROY!
Walker for '11 ROY! (or least some really awesome Under Armour commercials)
FREE BIYOMBO! (I'm looking at you, Fuenlabrada)
That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Well…I am hopeful that the Panthers make a couple of moves during the off-season to solidify the QB position for the future. First they need to bite the bullet and move Jimmy C, even at a deminished return. Then they should make a solid effort at getting Josh Johnson in free agency. Johnson has many of the same abilities as Cam and would fit in the Chud offense better than any other back-up that I can think of.
"I may be old but...eh, I forget the rest!"
When you buy a new car, you don't go out and buy another new car for a back up.
If something happens to it, you get a loaner car until your car is fixed.

Rec'd, perfect analogy.

Why would you spend a first round pick on a backup QB?
The smart thing to do is to sign a veteran backup(which the Panthers did in Anderson).
I just can’t see the logic in spending a first round pick on a player that you hope doesn’t ever see the field for 10 years.
Yep..
I could understand it if he didn't see the field for 9 years, but not ten! :^)

I Could See The Panthers Drafting A Late Round QB, Or Signing A Cheap Free Agent OB Like Dennis Dixon If Anderson Leaves Or Clausen Is Traded/Cut
However, I expect both Anderson and Clausen to stay, and that the Panthers will sign a UDFA QB for training camp.
I really don't even know what to say.
Top 10 most pointless things I’ve ever read in my life. Not trying to be a dick.
Thinking with the amount of quality QBs coming out that we may possibly get a solid late pick
Kind of like Tony Pike, who I still believe should have gotten a chance
CAM....CAAAAAAAAM
I think that premise is sound
in that we need a good back up. Look at Indy, Oak, ChI, and you can see what happens win the ferri needs a fixin but the loner is a pinto.
However at the moment I think that with Chuds schems we go someone who has prove to thrive when given tools and time. Derek Anderson knows he is a back for the rest of his carreer. If we could get an athletic backup QB to add to the roster It would be intelligent.

You have the right idea,
However, in practice, this doesn’t make much sense. Especially when there are more pressing needs. After theses other needs are met such as defense, O-line, etc, then and only then can Carolina address a QB. Further, Cam Newton is way too young to draft a successor for him, so it’s best to let the chips fall where they may in the draft, and take a player such as Ryan Mallet, Colt McCoy, or even Matt Flynn. A player who can be groomed, and kept as a backup until the need arises.
You can have one QB on the field at a time
This is why. If your QB gets hurt your team is in trouble. If you draft well and have a good team you still win games. Look at Houston. If we had Cam Newton’s clone playing back up next season our team would be no be better.
