CSR Monday Night Football Open Thread
We've got the Chargers at the Jaguars tonight in a game that...WAIT! The Jags have a MNF home game? By God I'm calling it now...The Panthers better have a MNF home game next year!...my preference would be Falcons vs. Panthers at the BoA! Big Cat make it happen (pull the pacemaker excuse if you have to).
Tonight's game features two teams having disappointing seasons. The Jags (3-8) already fired their coach and the Chargers (4-7) are rumored to be headed that way as well. I imagine fantasy implications might keep some of you tuned in. Otherwise let's just talk about the Panthers:
- We need a nickname for DE Thomas Keiser
- How about the double pass back to Newton? I'm still geeking on that one.
- Or Stewart trucking Tanard Jackson on that first drive?
- Who's arm is that Cam is hugging?
- or...you get the point (I could get used to winning real quick)

My guess is Jeff Otah...
only guy with dreads that tall in street clothes who would be on the sideline.
Could it be Hogan?
If not that’s gotta be a receiver his arms are to skinny

I'm thinking that it may be Darvin Adams...

I need Vincent Jackson to not get over 12 points to win my CSR league this week.
It all comes down to this 1 player, If he makes 13 I lose. In the nfl league I am in, I am still facing that same 1 player, but I have a 39 point lead in that 1. If I win the CSR game, I will have 4 wins, same as the Panthers. If I win the nfl game, I have 10 wins.

I would like to make a suggestion for keiser’s nickname. Keiser is actually a german word and it means…. Emperor!! Admitted ‘the emperor’ is a little grandiose at this stage of his career when he only has 3 sacks and an INT but I’m just saying… That’s what his name means :)

Sling Blade, Kraken, and Big Money...
Makes for an awesome group of nicknames for our DEs. =)

I am fairly certain the Jags got two MNF games because of their attendance problems
I think the League decided to help Jax out by giving the team two prime time slots in hopes that those games would generate interest in the team. Doesn’t seem to be working, but I give the NFL credit for trying. The Jags beast Baltimore the last time they were on MNF.

Okay this may be racist but I am gonna say it anyway. ( I feel I am entitled since my wife and inlaws are German)
We could call Keiser The Sour Kraut. That would fit in with our making of collard greens. (not really but you get the point)

I don't think that was too bad but you staff members can remove it if you feel it was.

How the hell does Rivers have 3200 passing yds and 16 TDs? Everytime i see him he is throwing a pick lol
Does anybody know.....
If Cam had scored on that catch…. would that have been a record? pass TD, 3 rush TD, and rec TD in one game
pretty sure one of those rushes came off os that play. but still…

The team as a whole is a little like like the 2010 panthers.
Good rb(s), newly drafted qb not living up to expectations, defense doing well but offense not. And their coaching situation is somewhat similar but theirs got fired at an earlier time.
actually.......
they're worse....they have gabbert...... at least we had pickles
by panthers4life on Dec 5, 2011 9:29 PM EST up reply actions
they could pass as brothers.....
they definitely have the same style of play
by panthers4life on Dec 5, 2011 9:40 PM EST up reply actions
its irritating regardless
i like it when they dissect certain plays or point out patterns that arent so obvious. but i hate it when. like just now. “thats a good pass by gabbert, and thats a bad defense by san diego” on the checkdown touchdown to MJD… its usually worse though somehow
WalterFootball has him at 31 to the Steelers
Also, they have Ta’amu falling all the way to #41 and have Burfict falling into the 2nd round. That’s put us in a very interesting spot if they were both on the board when our second pick came up.
My Mock:
1. Zach Brown LB North Carolina
2. Dontari Poe NT Memphis
4. Jeff Fuller WR Texas A&M
5. Marcus Forston DT Miami(BPA…)
6. Bobby Massie OT Ole Miss
7. BPA
Panther Pride 'till I die.
I like that
And kinda on what I said before, I wouldn’t be disappointed at all if Poe was gone and Ta’amu fell to us. I also saw a little of Derek Wolfe the other day and he looks very impressive.
Yea im glad to see that. I know I always poked fun at Gabbert but I really wish him well. I love the sideline presence of their new head coach, love high intensity head coaches like him and Harbaugh, my only knock against Rivera is his sideline presence.
We only see what the cameras show us...
FWIW Cap’n Munnerlyn said Rivera was the most inspiring coach he’s ever had, saying (and I quote) “Man, when he starts talking to ya on the sideline, you get so pumped you feel like you can run through a brick wall if he asked you to do it”
Nobody fucks with the Jesus! -Big Lebowski
I hope the jaguars develop into a contending team within the next few years like we will. I want our future games to be interesting because I’ve always felt we should be rivals considering we were established around the same time and everything, and we both have cat mascots.

Nickname for Keiser
The Emperor or Caesar, Kaiser is german for emperor and comes from the word Caesar.
I think we are just going to have to find something totally off the wall like The Kraken

He’s from Stanford right? Let’s call him Better than Luck!
I'm telling you man...Blitzkrieg.

So its official I'm out of the playoffs in my long time ESPN league
I broke my #1 rule and it cost me the playoffs.
Jaxon’s Fantasy Rule #1: Never go Homer
I put in DeAngelo Williams for Mendenhall, a 16 pt swing and I’m losing by 10. I just got Williams off the waiver wire two weeks ago and played him last week.

Do the Jags really have that little faith in Gabs?

But Gabbert plays the position like he’s scared as soon as pressure comes he winces and hides… Cam he eats the hit and throws it 50 yards down the field (glad we drafted him instead of Gabbert)

Gabbert played well in the 1st half, sucked
ass in the 2nd half. Has no pocket presence once so ever, should have stayed in college for another year to me. He’s in a bad situation similar to Clausen with a lame duck coach, a staff who can’t develop Qb’s etc. I’m wondering what happens if the new coach doesn’t see gabbert as a franchise Qb and wants since own Qb in 2012 to lead the team similar to Ron R? Best of luck to him in the near future. Jags fans( not all of them) are sure are throwing him under the bus how he’s the worst rookie starting Qb ever etc.
