Well, no one else has called me brilliant for picking last week's game correctly, so.....BRILLIANT!! Up to 9-5 on the year now, going for the double digits this weekend.
I have to tell you, there are a lot of reasons to pick the Bucs to win on Sunday in the category of intangibles:
1. Just like the Texans were due for a loss last week, the Bucs' 8 game losing streak is due to end sometime....isn't it??
2. Word on the street is Coach Morris' job might be in jeopardy. Being a players' coach that he is, the Bucs should be rallying around the ol "Save the Coach" banner in their two remaining games.
4. The good guys are yet to win a game against a team who is playing their starting QB this season. Yup, way. Look it up.
5. Revenge. Carolina pretty much rubbed their face in it down in Tampa. In a rival game, the second game often plays out very differently.
So I'm a bit trepidatious (yes, that is my first time using that word) about guaranteeing a W this week.
But here's why I am picking the good guys this week. Two weeks ago I picked the Falcons to beat us, because they were a better team than we are. This week, I am using the same reasoning in picking the Panthers to pick up win number Six. The defenses are equally sub-average. We have more firepower on offense than the Bucs do, even with Josh Freeman in the lineup. So I'm looking for a lot of points in this one, and just don't see us blowing out this wounded and desperate bunch of Buccaneers. I am picking the Panthers over the Bucs because I believe we are a better team than they are. Simple and plain. (But we'd better show up and play because we aren't good enough to win if we don't.)
Panthers 31 Bucs 27
That’s how I see it. What about you Panthers fans? How do you see this Sunday’s game? You make the call,
Let’s hear it!
