Well, I thoroughly enjoyed missing my pick for last week's game. In my defense, when I wrote the blog I had heard Josh Freeman had practiced and I expected him to play. We have done pretty well against some backup QB's this year, and that might have changed my mind; nonetheless, the Panthers played well, and I was amazed at how well the Panthers D stopped LeGarrette Blount, I really did not see that coming. Again, maybe playing against the other Josh made a difference there also.
This week's game is another tough one for me to call. It reminds me of the Titans game a bit; I really knew the Titans were better than us, but against my better judgment I picked the good guys to win at home. And of course we all remember how that game went.
I'm sitting here at 3:15am writing this...and still not knowing who to pick. It's definitely another heart and head week for my Panthers split personality.
My heart says the Falcons are on the verge of realizing they aren't as good as they thought they were, and won't be ready for the Panthers' prime effort on Sunday. Our young team is improving and have won a couple in a row, building some confidence. I really want to pick the good guys this week, I really do.
My head says we are yet to beat a good QB this year. The two teams we just beat were frankly pretty awful. We also have some defensive tackles that I have never heard of to go with an improving Neblett. I can't help but think (as I wrongly did last week) that Michael Turner gashes us on a cold Carolina Sunday for 140 yards and 2 TDs.
Sigh, I hate this. I think next year I'm just gonna pick the Panthers 19 times and enjoy myself more.
But until then.......................
Look for the Panthers to play well offensively. Look for the Falcons to play better in the other two phases of the game. I'm picking the Falcons this week because they have a better team than we do. Simple and plain.
Falcons 27 Panthers 24
Hope I'm wrong!!!
That’s how I see it. What about you Panthers fans? How do you see this Sunday’s game? You make the call,
Let’s hear it!
