Bucs QB Freeman Still Not Practicing; Questionable for Panthers Game
The latest update has Bucs QB Josh Freeman still sitting out practice rehabbing a sore shoulder:
The Bucs quarterback didn’t throw for the second straight day of practice on Thursday, according to PewterReport.com. He hurt the shoulder on the Bucs’ final play from scrimmage against the Titans last Sunday when he lost a fumble.
Freeman has taken "mental reps" this week at practice, but he hasn’t been able to throw. Bucs coach Raheem Morris said that Freeman’s status may not be determined until Saturday or possibly gametime.
Mental reps? For some reason I find that pretty funny.
The Bucs back-up is Josh Johnson who is more of running threat with a sub 60 QB rating. Johnson has been taking 1st team reps all week.
I'd like to think if Freeman sits out it favors the Panthers but given our biggest worry is the running of Legarette Blount I'm not so sure. Expect the Panthers to stack the box if so.
Hat tip to Jay82z28 for posting this first as a fanshot.

Their backup is Josh Johnson. 4 TDs, 8 interceptions, QB rating 56. This game will be a cakewalk for us. Sorry Bucs fans incase you read this lol, nothing personal.

Remember that when Blount sets a career high in rushing against us.
Freeman or Johnson, this game is hardly a cakewalk. Our defense made Curtis Painter look somewhat competent.

If not for midget boy’s PI Colts would have only scored one TD against us. This is the game we break out and make a statement.
We win by 13 or more, mark my words.

Based on OldhamA's measurement, Munnerlyn probably has a solid inch on me.
With that said, we prefer the term “little person,” thank you very much.

Midget Boy
Who just so happens to be the same height or taller than the 2 leading receivers in the NFL this season . . .
Do you know the odds each player in the NFL over came to make it?
much less start… Anybody good enough to make it to the NFL deserves a minimum level of respect. Calling anyone ‘midget boy’ is not acceptable period, much less a Panther.

I'm not sure this is a good thing.
The defense has been watching tape on the Freeman lead Bucs this week, not the Josh Johnson lead Bucs. Plus this could mean more handoffs to Blount.

I’m not one bit worried. Their back up sucks and I’m sure they have been planning heavily against Blount anyway in practice and their D is awful.
Expect a easy Panther won here no doubt.

Josh Johnson Is Faster Than Cam, Giving The Bucs An Outside Running Threat To Go With Blount's Inside Power Running & A Strong Arm To Burn The Panthers Deep
Over confidence has killed the Panthers this season.
J. Johnson played at Wembley. That was a painful experience for all involved.

Freeman's play has been pretty questionable all season.
And I agree with Son of a Newton. I wasn’t worried much about Freeman, its Blount that may be the killer.
I honestly think is winning will hurt in the long run. Quinton Coples looks like the best DE prospect since Julius Peppers, if we drop out of the top 5 pick he will be gone and we will have
missed out on a true defensive stud we truely need.
Maybe we should just be ‘quitin for Quinton’ so we can be sure to nab him..

I am not against it, I just think we have needs greater than a DE now.

Good god
No, he’s not anywhere near the best DE prospect since Peppers. And we don’t need a defensive end anyway!
I don't think it really matters, to be honest.
I don’t see Johnson as being any worse than Painter.
The real match-up will be our offense against their defense. If we put up 30, we should win.

Not as easy as people suspect, IMO.
I’ve noticed all season that our and the Eagle’s defense is similar this season. Very weak up the middle with poor LB play. Of course, their secondary is stacked, but ours is adequate I think. Just watched Marshawn Lynch rip up that defense and I think Blount’s a better back than Lynch. Ultimately I think we will win because we have more firepower. Close though.

Hopefully the Bucs will decide to not give him the carries
They’ve had a tendency to abandon the run and/or pull Blount at times because they don’t trust him in pass protection
