In case you missed it things got a little wild over at ESPN's NFC South blog when Pat Y's Friday chat got derailed by this comment from a fan in ATL. Gee I wonder which team this guy pulls for? [smiles wryly]
CC (Atlanta): Cam is a turnover machine yet you only single out Ryan and Freeman for shoddy play. I get that Cam is a rookie but he is SO careless with the ball.
Pat Yasinskas: True, but Cam's putting up some other big numbers.
though there is no denying the turnovers would you agree Newton is 'SO careless' with the ball? I thought I would do a comparison with some big name QB's this season as well against Andy Dalcon, the rookie QB with the best shot at challenging Newton for ROY. I also added the stats from each of these QBs from their first year as a starter.

As you can see I would hardly say Newton is that much more careless with the football than his current peers, which by the way are the some the top QBs in the NFL. I will agree some of his turnovers have been poorly timed or extremely costly. So do you buy this guys assertion Newton is a 'Turnover Machine' and if not is it simply because he is also so productive that you overlook it?
