Panthers vs. Bucs: Man Up Fan Poll

Now that we've assigned a Game Ball from last weekend's game let's move to the upcoming game versus the Bucs. So in your opinion for the Panthers to beat the Bucs on the road this Sunday which player is in most need to 'Man Up'. I've got some candidates listed below in a Man Up fan poll but if you don't like my choices simply discuss it in the comments.

The Panther player in most need to Man Up for the Panthers to beat the Bucs is:

CB Captain Munnerlyn - We can't have any more bad pass interference calls if we are going to win

DT Terrell McClain - HC Ron Rivera recently praised the improve of Sionne Fua but in turn said McClain has regressed; with Legarrette Blount up next we need to be stout up the middle

RT Byron Bell - Leads the Panthers in false start penalties and given the Bucs will bring the heat from the edge he had better be ready Sunday

S Sherrod Martin - though he made a fantastic INT to seal the Colts win he also blew a tackle on Reggie Wayne that was pure ugly.

DE Greg Hardy - Hardy seems a step late all season getting to the QB and given the Panther pass rush has disappeared at times we need the Kraken to be fully released this weekend

As far as I'm concerned, Sherrod Martin is playing for his job next season

Other than a few timely INTs, he has totally regressed this season. I would not be surprised to see BAMF and co. hit the free agent wire in the offseason looking for a capable safety than can tackle, not just a pure ball hawk.

Terrell McClain...

Come on, you get what you pay for with he and Fua. The person(s) who should “Man up” should be Greg Hardy and Charles Johnson. This is a big QB target in Josh Freeman… yes he’s a little mobile (and I do mean a little) but he seems to melt in the pocket. you get the pressure on him, drop him a few times, and force Freeman into the awaiting arms of our sloooooowwwww Defensive Tackles Fua and McClain.

The Bucs pass rush isn't what we should be afraid of

Cam will have probably the most time hes had all year in the pocket but our run D is the biggest problem. We need to force Freeman to beat us because hes been a turnover machine.

McClain def. needs to step it up – there is no reason why Neblett should be pushing him. That said, the secondary (Sherrod) needs to perform a bit better too. Ever since he had a concussion, he’s struggling to make tackles.

I had to go with Hardy

Our offense is playing ballz out this year but the D is obviously struggling. Hardy needs to step up and speand some time in the Bucs Backfield getting real close and personal with Freeman. I they can keep enough pressure on Freeman, he will get rattled and make mistakeswith the pass, which will force them to run and I know that’s been our weekness this year but I they can’t pass and we know they can’t pass, then we can stack the box to compensate for the weaknesses up front. I’m probably way off base with this but it seems to make sense in theory.

B. Bell

I’m surprised only 6 people went with him at this point in the season. He leads the team with false start penalties and he hasn’t even played the whole season. He’s also blown some blocking assignments that allowed cam to get crushed or runs to get TFL. I know he’s a rook but of all the players, he has hurt our Offense the most by backing us up often.

He’s been ok this season. Mcclain is a rookie and he’s learning. Greg really should be using this time to show how explosive he can be for us. I really want a big performance from hardy that proves he’s starter calibre. Though a think the collective secondary (gamble excluded) needs to show up in a big way too

Bell needs experience and coaching.

He’s been getting a bucketful of coaching every week and equal amounts of experience every Sunday this season. It should pay huge dividends in the future, as a starter or VERY valuable rotation backup.

The Kraken and CJ for that matter barely get to rotate out

they are wore the f@#k out. I’m surprised neither has gotten…I’m gonna stop right there before I jinx them. Capn’ is playing out of position but did have a terrible game against Reggie Wayne. Bell is an UDFA rookie so he is what he is. Sherry Martin needs to man up. That “tackle” attempt was embarassing. So Martin gets my vote.
